For once, I'll agree with thefran

. I mean, obviously, the idea that once you find your 'group', you should never look outside of it or have significant relationships outside of it is nonsense... but still, the fact remains that one of the girls finding a successful, long-term relationship would severely unbalance the group. Instead of the Bearers of Harmony, banding together to defend Equestria from some new threat with their absolute faith in each other, it's the Bearers of Harmony And Also Rarity's Coltfriend Bill.

Not nessesarily Eros and Phileos aren't exclusive. The FourLoves don't exclude one another. For instance Storge and Phileos often coexist. You love your parents and your friends and you don't have to choose one for the other. They are simply different loves.

Show example: Rarity loves her sister and her parents (storge)and her friends (phileos). But just becuase she loves her parents doesn't mean she doesn't love her friends.

Friendship is the only love that gets stronger the more friends, In other words The more the merrier. A new colt wouldn't affect them on the contrary he could even be part of their circle of friends.

You hit the nail on the head.

A BF could be part of a mane 6's 'support' network...like AJ's family, Spike for Twilight etc.

I can't help but notice the two Pegasi are quite...alone.

There's a limited amount of hours in a day, and the mere thought of Twilight spending to commit not to the established cast's relationships but to breeding with Gentlecolt McIdontgiveafuck is off-putting to say the least. Not to mention the other necessary parts of romance, such as undergoing a personality shift for no apparent reason, or absolutely useless and poorly founded conflicts.

This is okay in fanfic. This is the absolute opposite of okay in canon, end of story.
