Romance would destroy the point of the show. The moral is that friendship conquers all, not love. If a mane character were to end up caring about a guy more than she does her best friends then...
once. just once. Don't make me sit through it. don't ruin my happiness. Let me imagine a world where friends can be more important than finding your lover.
Excuse me while I resist the urge to beat myself over the head with my laptop.
Ginger I am geniunely curious,
WHO IN THIS THREAD SAID THAT WOULD HAPPEN IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM?!
WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND HAS TOLD YOU THAT LOVERS > FRINEDS?!
Are you seriously implying that the writers would do that? Do you honestly believe Romance and friendship are such mutually exclusive concepts that you can't have them together on a show?
Is there some sort of GIGANTIC rift between erotic love and platonic/whatever-hell-friendshp-is-called love? After all, what is romantic love if not a form of friendship? Someone please explain that to me
because I've never been in a relationship.
Please explain to me how a romantic interest would "overwrite" the show's theme of "
The Power of Friendship >>>>>>> Everything else."
If the possible bachelor candidate would y'know,
bend the entire show's premise to him and his girlfriend because the writers suck donkey testicles, that'd be one thing. But if some nice dude like Big Mac got together with say,
Fluttershy, and the writers basically occaisionally go "oh yeah, these two are together in case you forgot since it's been about four or five episodes since the last time they acted like a couple" and not make a gigantic fucking deal out of it like every other show in existance, then tell me; WHAT IS SO GODDAMN HORRIBLE ABOUT THAT?
Just because something exists in fiction that's been done poorly in previous works doesn't mean it'll be done horribly in another work. You're being stubborn as a goddamn mule
* yeah, I went there
over something that you could think is the best thing ever because the writers did a good job with it but refuse to accept it because of past examples of it not being properly utilized in your eyes.
Ginger, I like you. I really do. I respect pretty much everyone on this website barring a few exceptions. You guys are decent people with common sense.
But I want to make something as clear a possible; I come to this website to get AWAY from the
"STOP TALKING ABOUT WHAT I DON'T LIKE HURKA DURR" bullshit all over the rest of the internet.
I respect your opinions and I'm sorry if you've had a ton of failed relationships in the past that have soured your outlook on romance.
But
throwing a temper tantrum like a spoiled brat because people are discussing something you not only hate/disagree with, but can ACTIVELY AVOID AND NOT PARTICIPATE IN is one of my biggest peeves and the #1 reason I wish I could be a moderator on some forum like this one.
You're throwing a hissyfit over something that might not even actually come to pass! Insisting a trope is horrible just because it exists is
another one of my
berserk buttons.
Hating something that hasn't even come to pass that has the potential to be good OR bad just positively boggles my mind and is the main reason I refuse to associate with the
Sonic fanbase. It's fucking ridiculous!
Tl;dr: None of us know whether romance added to the show would be bad or good, so there's no use in acting like it's the end of the damn world. If it happens, and it sucks, fine. If it happens, and it doesn't suck, fine. But for all that is reasonable and holy,
STOP ACTING LIKE A LUNATIC AND FUCKING WAIT BEFORE PASSING YOUR OPINION.
Agree, disagree, get butthurt and sic the mods on me for harassment, What-fucking-ever. I've vented my anger and said my rant, I don't give a fuck.
EDIT: yeah, what thefran, Fallen Legend, Applelight, and Savant all said.
