Kinda dumb, but ponies mentioned in non-pony comic.
If there's anything that'll turn me off completely from the idea of actually having a cutie mark, it's this.

What do any of you think of mlp fim darkfics? Like Rocket to insainty, or fallout equstria, or even cupcakes? I personally think rocket to insainty was allright, Fallout equstria is amazing, and cupcakes is wierd.

Also, who else would love to see a mlp fangame with zombies?

There kinda has been, depending on how you count Story of the Blanks.

Personally, I think that darkfics can be good, if they're handled right. I'm writing something decidedly darker than mlp itself right now, but I like to think I'm handling it decently.

[up][up][up] Aww!

I assimilated a friend into the herd, today. Two or three clips of Discord made him go: "Wait a minute! This show has actual villains? I've got to check it out!"

I turned my three closest college friends into bronies.

And, thanks to the collateral damage we caused by watching MLP out in the lobby TVs, probably a good 5 other people too.

@CA: We should root out other bronies in the area. It'll be like a witch-hunt, only instead of burnings, we have MLP marathons at the end of it.

[up]I would watch it in the theatre, on my own, surrounded by small children and their parents. Because that's how I roll.

My physics professor is aware of the phenomenon but "has not jumped on that particular train".

I was in all honesty not all that surprised to find this out, based on the memes that inevitably work their way into the homework platform (ponies have, so far, not been one of them, but it has Adventure Time, Troll Physics, and Philosoraptor...)

For one, does anyone know why MLP seems to be popular among tropers? Also, maybe you guys could settle something for me. I have a distant/semi latent MLP memory from early childhood, and I don't know if it was an episode or a dream.

Basically, the ponies are on an island, and the ponies native to the island abduct one of the protagonist ponies & drag her up the local active volcano to be sacrificed. She is promtply rescued by her protagonist pony posse, and afterward they sit around a table of a "Pony Denny's" across the street, drinking pony coffee, and discussing the preceding events.

Obviously, the latter half was a dream. I just don't know if an almost-pony-sacrifice has ever been part of the show.

MLP isn't really just popular among tropes, it's popular among the internet as a whole. It's pretty prolific around these parts.

And as for your memory, well, I don't think anyone here would know. The only pony we watch is 4th gen, Lauren Faust style ponies. Friendship Is Magic, in other words. Not much of the older stuff.

I was entirely unaware of both the internet popularity and the existence of multiple MLP generations. Thundercats has new eps, so I guess that makes sense.. anyway, thanks.

I'm waiting for a chance to use this gif somewhere.

edit: I just got back from the Helsinki Brony Meetup. I only stayed for two hours, though I heard some of the people there are going to hang out until 20:00 (four hours after I left). There were about 50 of us there. Some of the people custom-painted pony dolls, but we mostly just hung around and talked about semi-random topics. It started raining about an hour into the meetup, and I had the best kebab I've yet eaten in Helsinki, under a tree with rainwater drizzling down my neck.

There was some talk about Ponicon (or Konicon* ) being held in the future. I'm gonna attend, unless it's at a really inconvenient place or time.

It's good to know that some of us have been introducing our friends to the awesomeness that is mlp:fim. In fact, just a few days ago, I introduced a friend of mine to the show by explaining some of the many great qualities of the show to him, and he got curious enough to ask me to show him a few episodes. First two episodes I showed him were "party of one" and "sonic rainboom". To say he was shocked is probably the understatement of the year. So now I have a fellow brony as a real life friend.

Hey kekisak, if you don't mind telling us, Whats your darkfic about {You don't have to get in to much detail, Just a premise if your willing to say something about your in-progress story. Well, if you even have that figured out yet.}? Also, I agree, darkfics can be great if their written well.
