In all seriousness, though, I'm not given to thinking any pairing, whether or not I'm actually fond of the idea, doesn't "get enough love" unless it's an Official Couple that people ignore.

Strangely, I think Mr. and Mrs Cake, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Orange don't tend to get a lot of attention. The only canon couples are completely ignored.

I saw a shipping chart with the Oranges on it.

There was a caption there that said "they get more love from each other than the fans" or something to that effect

Rarity/Fluttershy? Nah, I just don't see it. Rarity is far too bossy, and Fluttershy is far too, well, shy, for that to have a chance to work.

Rarity/Applejack might be a little more feasible, perhaps. But it has the opposite problem: Applejack and Rarity are a bit too similar — they are headstrong, very focused on their own occupations, and with very little patience with people who question their craft.

If we have to find a mane cast relationship for Rarity, I think that Twilight might be the best possibility — but even then, it's iffy at best.

Aaand now I spent a few minutes discussing which pairings of imaginary, magical lesbian ponies are realistic enough. Um. Confound these ponies, they drive me to... what is this, anyway?

Yes, and about how Fluttershy hates it making her stand at the center of attention, but is too meek to say anything. This kind of thing is exactly why I think that a relationship between the two (or between two Real Life humans with similar personalities, for that matter) might be more than a little difficult.

As an aside, I don't get why Shy!Fluttershy is apparently so popular with the fandom. Don't get me wrong, Fluttershy has her moments; but her whole "cripplingly low self-esteem, complete lack of assertiveness" routine is way past the point where she would need serious psychological assistance.

Oh so I'm not the only who is just mildly confused why people turn her shyness off the charts.

Sure it's an easy way for fanworks to rack up the cute points, but really... Fluttershy has her moments where she gets excited enough to tackle Pinkie or showe Twilight out the way, annoyed to (almost) yell at the CMC and of course, The Stare.

Though her base mood seems to be "meekness."

Now excuse me, my head is too full of pony and I need to go decide on dinner and buy groceries.

Just because Fluttershy can't become a model for a horde of strangers doesn't mean she can't do some closed-doors modeling for Rarity. :P

Honestly, I don't care for any Rarity or Fluttershy ships. Twimac and Appledash is where it's at.

It sparks feelings of protectiveness. That makes certain people feel special.
