Okay everypony, here's something I just don't get:
What's with the series' insistence on using the forms "anypony" or "everypony" instead of "anyone/anybody" and "everybody/everyone"? I mean there's nothing particularly anthropomorphic about the words "one" or "body", unlike all of the expressions that reference things like hands, etc. I mean, unless the concept of 'pony' doesn't adequately translate to 'one' or 'body' because they're eldritch abominations or something.

I suppose that's because ponies are the master race, what with the whole "Immortal goddess princess that can hold celestial bodies for ransom" sort of thing.

I thought it's kind of like how, in English, we have words like policeman and fireman to describe female police members and firefighters. There could have been a racism issue against other species, and while the problem got smaller the language stayed the same.

Think about this. "Goodbye" actually means "God be with ye", and yet atheists don't (thankfully) complain about its use.
In-universe, "everypony" etc. are so ingrained to their language that nobody ever notices them anymore.

The thing is though about the "every/anypony" is that the usual forms of it, "any/everyone" or "any/everybody", like, the latter makes sense unless you're talking to ghosts or energy beings, and the first makes sense unless you're talking to a hive mind, of which, as far as we know, is not in MLP:FIM. So it's especially jarring.
