Ginger & Cookoo: I think it extends beyond just shipping to backseat writing in general. They see something going somewhere and of course, that direction is the best and everyone else must follow it. Including the property owners.

I'm mostly just not interested because I already think ATLA is overrated and everything I've heard suggests that Korra is the typical sequel—more of the same, but worse.

Only reason I knew who pit was, was from the old Nintendo Power CAPTAIN N comics. Man those were the shit when I was 10.

@ginger Gaol you mean? Yeah, she's really underdeveloped in my eyes, because that's her his only appearance.

I like Pit and Palutena's relationship. Sometimes she acts really motherly, yet other times they seem like close friends.

Also, it's not paying, so much as betting. The more you put in the Fiend's Cauldron, the better weapons/powers you find.

Ehmmm... trying to step on as few toes as possible... because it comes off to me like the kind of stuff you see posted on this forum's Writer's Block, except it somehow got animated.

It struck me like the writers were less concerned with telling a good story, and more with "hey lets lampshade! Hey lets subvert! Hey let's make a funny observance!" The characters don't act like believable people, they act like self-inserts who are going through the motions while coyly acknowledging the trappings of their genre. The plot seems like it was constructed entirely from a checklist of "fanboys will flock to us if..." (and a decidedly accurate one, at that) where elements were thrown in with little regard for whether they advanced the story or even made much sense.

It's sort of the same as my problem with Pinkie and the Cerberus, except applied to a whole show.
