What's interesting is that C&H doesn't seem to have any vocal haters. People love it, or they like it, or they're indifferent towards it, but no one dislikes it enough to rant about it online. Or at least that was the case a few years ago; maybe the situation has changed since then.

@Ginger: Again, it's up for them to decide. If they decide that being RD's pet is worth the risk, that's their issue. And yes, check out Calvin and Hobbes.
@Fallen: Hey, good to see you too.

When I have disposable income, I will go get myself the complete Calvin and Hobbes collection.
And Ginger probably doesn't like it because there are no competent villains.

Can you tell me who you are? Can you tell me where I am?
I've forgotten how to see. I've forgotten if I can.

After a bit of reminiscing, there where two moments when I was watching animation that made me tear up.
1st was the ending to Grave of the Fireflies.
2nd was this
Everything's been done. Everything has a meaning. However your life at best is to serve as a building block for others.

IT IS LITERALLY THE BEST THING EVER. OH MY GOD IT IS AWESOME.
SPACEMAN SPIFF
TRACER BULLET
STUPENDOUS MAN
...
There is almost nothing in this world that I love more.
Can you understand that?

@JT Stop saying that like it takes away all of her responsibility. She should'be figured that some of the pets might be OVERCONFIDENT, or peer pressured, or other stuff like that.
No, she wasn't being actively being hostile, but her criteria was dickish and her methods were THOUGHTLESS!
...sorry, I'm okay

Naw, the best thing about Calvin and Hobbes is Hobbes. In my opinion.

@Stevebat: I wish Watterson was still making comics, but I also have tremendous respect for him for stopping while he was at the top of his game, rather than allowing C&H to go south and end on a whimper.
That explains it. I never cared to ever see that. It always looked boring.
You do know the premise of This Is Spinal Tap, right? It's freaking hilarious, but it's so full of sarcasm-with-a-straight-face humor that some viewers have actually mistaken it for a real documentary about a real band.

This doesn't sound like overhyping in the slightest.

You're right. It's not.

We are still trying to show new stuff to Ginger?
@Ginger
I love the fact that you liked this show even tough there weren't any good Manignificent Bastard villains at season 1

I don't know how saying "I do risky things, and if you want to hang around with me you have to do so as well" is thoughtless. I'm saying that because she doesn't have responsibility unless she somehow forces them to take part. She's basically saying "If you hang around with me, we'll do dangerous stuff, and you'd better be able to handle it". If one of the pets overestimates their abilities, that's an error in their judgment, not hers. Yeah, the criteria themselves were pretty bad (which was the whole point of the episode), but forcing those who wanted the position to do a trial run isn't a bad methodology. It would be worse if she just picked one at random and later did a canyon run without informing them of the danger.
@Con: How did you forget the deranged mutant killer monster snow goons?
@Meta Four: Actually Twilight Sparkle has a tendancy for this, maybe what makes her flaws kind of depthful. She has something of a one track mind that is too set on accomplishing one goal she doesn't notice the other risks or scenarios happening around her. In Lesson Zero for example the moral is about being so overfocused on one particular task and not seeing the big picture.
1. She obsessively tries to even out the icing on the cupcakes despite them all being reduced to a tiny spec on top in the process.
2. When trying to make the CMC grow attached to her doll, she is so obsessed with making them argue over loving it, she fails to realise they are actually fighting over who should be forced to play with it first anyway.
3. Even when Celestia confronts her about her misbehaviour, her main rebuttal seems to be concerning her tardiness. She still thinks that is her key error.
As for Sunday comics, always been more a Garfield fan myself:

@Lurker JT seemed to be insinuating that RD wasn't being unreasonable in that episode.
