^She is. Her creative input was lessened rather a lot after Season 1, when she stepped down as creative director, and is being phased out completely over the course of S2, from what I hear.

Her decision, if I recall.

She ceased to be Fluttershy and became Darth Monarch.

now all I can think of is Fluttershy as The Monarch.

No idea. She's giving us vague reasons for why she stepped down, but she explained that it was "something she knew she had to do for a while".

^^It was her decision to step down, as far as I know, but (from what I hear, particularly given her remarks about it in the Ed Daily interview and her reply to the open letter someone posted a few posts ago) she was coerced, or at the very least pressured into stepping down, either by active pressure to leave or by Hasbro's blunt rebuttal of her ideas and such.

So they came to HER, asked HER if she could head up the revival of MLP, and now they're kicking her out cuz she's of no more use to them?

^I don't know. She hasn't given out any details, and probably can't, legally speaking.

Like I said, my best guess is that she just got frustrated with the constraints they put on her. She talks about it a bit in the Ed Daily interview - how "Fall Weather Friends" nearly got axed because it showed cheating, even though it was portrayed negatively, that sort of thing. And then there's the 'loser' censoring...

They should try the Animaniacs technique of getting stuff past the censors: Add something so offensive that you 100% know is going to get blasted by the censors, and while they're distracted by it, you sneak in the subtler stuff.

Isn't "loser" only censored by the stations that air the show, not by hasbro itself?

No, it's not pony leather, it's made of some wierd beastie from an artificial world. They actually have brown hides, but the tanning mucks with the pigments and makes them fade into a strange lemon-yellow. What sicko uses pony leather anyway?!

@Death Cloud: I don't have high hopes for g5 ponies unless they learn their lessons from Lauren Faust and don't fall back into the diabetes pit.

@ DC: Well, I'm just worried that the execs wouldn't learn from FiM and Transformers Animated that a good story with great characters is more important that pandering to lame tastes. Or maybe I just need a Grief Seed badly.

Well they were competent enough to choose Lauren Faust for the revival over anyone else, so I guess they aren't THAT stupid.

Problem is: we tend to think of big companies like Hasbro as being full of money-obsessed robots who all think exactly the same, when really I don't think that's entirely true. I'm sure SOME of them care about the quality of their products
