It like year or more ago someone could said that Hasbro never let bo made good MLP cartoon.

And TA wasn't that good, after pilot I was turned off. TP is better.

I was looking at Discord's character tropes. It's listing A lot of his plans as Xanatos Gambits. I'm not sure if this is entirely accurate, since XG's rely on the plan in question having multiple routes to victory. Regardless of how the heroes react he'll come out on top somehow.

What he's doing seems to be more based around Batman Gambits, which is when your plan hinges on a character acting in a certain way. I'm wondering if I should change it

Of course I don't think that Hasbro is full of money-grubbers; still, we can't ignore the fact that corporations do things for money. If the company sees the show as a glorified commercial first and foremost, no amount of creative brilliance will ever change that.

^What's the trope name for plans that revolve around characters acting a certain way when you make sure they act in a certain way, by direct force if necessary?

i'm not even sure if he's using any type of plan tbh. The manipulation itself is all but pointless since he could beat them all at any time.

^Sorry, but do you want to back that statement up?

The very fact that the toys are so low-quality is proof that they don't exactly care about what the show inspires people to buy as long as they buy it.

I feel like these discussions of Discord's plans and whether he's a good villain or not probably can't have any real answers until we see part two. We think we know a lot about him, but there hasn't been much confirmation.

Following this train of thought, I started thinking about what we do know about him:

He's evil.
He casts enchantments.
He dances.
If you look deep in his eyes, he'll put you in trances.

Calling it now,

Return of Harmony: Part 2 is going to somehow involve an evil brew.

I assume someone's come to this conclusion before, but this thread is so long that I miss a lot.

Red's right Death. As much as I don't blame Hasbro for anything, I have to admit that they are mostly in it for the money. They're certainly not doing this for the art, that's for sure

That more proof that they don't care for toys much. If MLPFIM was only commertial for toy for they would forced crew to make MLPFIM more similar to toys with more pink and stupid Celestria for example. They let artits do a show and give them so much freedom that internet fall in love with result.

If you really whant complain about Hasbro , complain about crappy MLP toys what they making.

^^^Wha- no, that's not how it works. See my previous statement about how they just don't care about the quality. As long as attaching the names to crappy toys is cheaper than actually making good, accurate toys, they will do that.

As always, Pinkie is right... at least Discord hasn't tried to eat anypony yet.

The best thing we can say about Hasbro is that at least they're not up in the creative team's faces as much as corperations usually are. They seem to be willing to keep the show and the toys seperate, which I'd say is reasonable

and that. They seem to have at least some comprehension of quality

That's true. They seem a little pushy, but no more than any other corporation, I would say.

^^^Heck if I know, but I guarantee Hasbro's goal in life isn't to provide the FiM team with creative freedom and a cushy production schedule.
