There's a carrot themed building in that screenshot.. what if Carrot Top is Applejack's next-door neighbor, and all the Ponyville farmers live on/near Sweet Apple Acres, the largest farm in the area?

I do wonder what its purpose is, myself. (My mind did not come up with anything resembling that, perhaps it is also the property of the Apple family)

What would have made Discord even better is if his voice changed constantly while he spoke.

Even Discord would be kept busy by Anon, because there is so much Anon and only one Discord. They would totally assimilate him.

The best way to contain great evil is to make them part of the Anonymous hivemind... or to make them One of Us, because they'd get trapped in an endless maze of tropes.

Ahah! I knew there had to be at least one person who doesn't like Discord. (Mind you, I don't have a problem with that. As Grandma used to say, "may he who argues about matters of taste be poked in the eye by a stick".)

To be honest, "The Return of Harmony" is a pretty horrible way to start a season, because it's no episode for anyone to start watching the series at. They didn't re-establish shit, and for a viewer to enjoy how they played with the characters' personalities, they have to have pre-existing knowledge of the ponies.

I'd have preferred if this had been the end of a season, instead of its beginning.

Well, it technically was originally intended to be the season finale, but it didn't work out for whatever reason. I agree that it's not great as an opener, but as a closer it would have worked really well.

I heard that was a rumor, and it was always intended to be the season 2 opener.

I have to disagree that the episode didn't re-establish anything. Discord did state what the mane cast's connecting elements were and he showed what the cast would act like without said elements. Anyone new to this show would at least learn some of the characters personalities.

Wow! I found Discord to be a load of fun, but man is he hax! With his personality, I'd love him to be a recurring villain, but he seems too powerful for that.

I think one thing Discord has over Nightmare Moon is that Nightmare Moon really only had one episode to really do anything. "Friendship is Magic, Part 1" focused on introducing the Mane Six for the first time, while "Return of Harmony, Part 1" only needed to remind the audience who the Mane Six are and their Elements.

Am I the only one that thinks its kinda sad that Celestia can no longer use the Elements of Harmony? Its probably because of the whole Nightmare Moon thing, but its still kinda sad nonetheless.

I suppose it's kinda sad, in a cosmic sorta way.

This was pretty much confirmed by one of the interviews recently posted on Equestria Daily.

As for "re-establishing, " personally I don't see the need for anything to be re-established. It's not like they haven't been playing reruns every day all summer.
