As much as we love Dinky, Tootsie, Ruby, and all the other background fillies, they are just background filler. They probably just wanted the named/speaking kids. Best not to think about it too much.

Exactly! Mentally breaking down the mane cast was done PURELY for his own amusement. He didn't need to do that at all when he could just poke them. He's malicious, and cruel.

Celestria said he make ponies lives miserable but never said how was Equestria before Dis Qord.

To be still Q related: Equestria was hellhole before, ponies were bastards, just like humans in XXI century. (Maybe it was aftermatch of great disaster or apocalypse). And their evil or dickinnes create or summon Dis Qord who make things worse for everypony.

I imagine he tries to show Celestria and Luna that ponies aren't worth saving and sisters trying to proove that ponies are better.

I assumed it was because he's stronger than Celestia (he could just brute force the lock)

I'm still conflicted about Discord's evil laughs. John De Lancie seems to be REALLY good at doing the quieter, more menacing ones, but kinda falls flat when they need to be massive. Or maybe it's just me

God like being from Star Trek The Next Generation. He's played by the same person who's voicing Discord. They act quite similar.

Back tot he Complete Monster thing, Tirek from G1 is listed as one on the My Little Pony YMMV page, so the franchises isn't completely devoid of Complete Monsters.

Well only Tirac count as CM in MLP , rest of G1 villains not so much. Only if some of them hurt more of their victims.

A character from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Q is an omnipotent reality warper trickster played by John de Lancie. Sound familiar?

My experience is that most actors have fun when they appear in kids' shows.

With the exception of Orson Welles. Discord deharmonised him right before he went to voice Unicron.

Shame, since Unicron had such an awesome voice.

I wonder if John ever mentioned that he was basically reprising his role as Q. Or if the director ever said: "Now John, I want you to play this like a more dickish version of Q, allright?"

John De Lancie do VA in cartoons before. He played Sinestro in Duck Dodgers for example.

Also, I hate you people so much, these threads are nigh impossible to get through without taking time out of your day just to try. Can't anyone slow down anymore?

Anyhow, I loved the premiere so much I had to watch it twice, Discord is my new favorite character, his breaking of the characters was cruel but brilliant and because I never cared for her, Rarity's breakdown was especially satisfying.

So were Cloudkicker and Showers, the later whom is essentially Ditzy's/Derpy's canon Heterosexual Life Partner. Showers shows up alongside our favorite grey pegasus way more than Carrot Top (Not that I don't love Carrot and Ditzy, I want that friendship to get a shout out), but seriously Cloudkicker and Showers are background ponies that Needs More Love.
