Most of the episodes are on Nick's website a few days after they air, so you don't have to wait long for them.
Unfortuantely, the delay does mean that I can't disscuss it without spoilers.

My favorite silent film is Safety Last. Even today, many of the jokes sitll work. Though unfortunately, the other Harold Lloyd films I've watched weren't as ood.

The Artist was cool. Also, the dog was funny.
Hugo was AWESOME! I have seen every movie it referenced! The Thief of Bagdad was in that movie! It was incredible!
Ha ha, I like Safety Last. The General is my favorite silent comedy, though.

@story Since I usually can't see the new MLP episode on the day it airs, I become a hermit until I watch the episode. No internet, no brony talk with friends, nothing. Of course, I go crazy if things get spoiled for me, so you might take a more moderate route.

Speaking of silent films, I think everyone should see Fritz Lang's Destiny,

There are sites that have the episodes up within a few hours of it airing, if you look for them.

I actually haven't seen any silent films...
Though I've seen a nearly silent film: Triplets Of Belville, a french animated movie. There's maybe four or five spoken lines in the entire hour and a half movie, and they were all in french so I didn't understand them anyways.

Yeah, I'm a massive film buff thanks in part, to my father. At some point I need to sit down and watch all of Die Nibelungen.

I haven't seen any silent films. I did see Hugo though. It was pretty good, despite being nothing like the book.

Okay, unrelated avatar discussion about Amon that was a while ago under the hottip.*
Amon's wrong because he's trying to force it to the world. He's a genius and powerful, but is kind of not thinking through. He wants to take away bending so that everyone is equal. This is ignoring that the world basically needs bending to work. Bending is used to power machines, by the police force, and for medicine. Plus, the avatar is needed to keep balance to the world. He does have a point about the equality, but he's going about it wrong by trying to force it.
I have to admit I've never seen a silent film, either. Unless I just don't remember them.

Yeah, I liked Hugo as well. I don't think I've seen many silent movies beyond The Artist though. Although I remember watching Psycho. It was actually scary. I loved it.

I'm STILL not sure how I feel about Hugo. I liked both halves, but for very different reasons, and looking at it as a whole just feels confusing.

I leave the thread until I see the episode too, but usually I manage to see it by Sunday evening at the latest.

Condo: Well, it's just a matter of finding time. I was lucky to snag the 2 dvd set when my local video rental placce closed its doors. Then maybe I'll get around to The White Sheik and D.O.A.
