children's shows outside of MLP, but I'm not a grown-up yet, so I'm still into that stuff.

What, because grow ups can't like kid's shows? I can't imagine a day where I won't love me some cartoons.

I've never much cared for 'adult' TV anyways, in fact.

@ginger: The weird thing is that's why I liked CatDog. It was so freaking bizarre, not to mention almost always depressing. My older sister didn't like it very much, but I did, because it was almost always sad.

[up] No, it's just not everybody here likes the same kids shows as me.

How did they ever lock the trope page of Lolita?

Oooh... Violins... They're my favorite musical instruments after the piano. They're just so beautiful...

No love for Violas?

@ginger: That's probably because the series was very very short. I'm not even certain if it HAS a tropes page...

Seriously though, give it a shot. He might not be listed as any of those things, but he reads that way in the first episode, and one way or another he's a good bad guy.

Oooh... Lolita is back! And I have to thank Connie for making sure I know it. YES. waii

[up] It is. I was trying to think of a way in which Canon!Amon had been lame but I couldn't think of anything at all XD

Yay, I finally caught up with my first post today. Now to catch up with the posts that were posted while I was catching up.

@story Korra has spawned a surprising number of memes. Various rejection comics like this, Comedian Amon, and Inappropiate Timing Spongebob.

[down] Most of the episodes are on Nick's website a few days after they air, so you don't have to wait long for them.

I'm still wondering whether to check out Korra or not, I have no idea how competent a villain will be after only 5 episodes.

and if his goal is what I think it is, then why the hell is he wrong? (I guess his methods)

Yeah, there's only like 6 episodes to watch and the show is free on Nick.com. Unless you live outside the U.S., I think you can watch the episodes without a problem.

[up] yeah, his methods. He harms innocent people as well and the way he talks... well, there are reasons why he's been compared to Those Wacky Nazis.

@ginger: In retrospect, I'm not too good at this recommendation stuff. There were these people at the library today that asked me for a movie rec, and I looked in the pile on found an old copy of the silent version of The Thief Of Bagdad. I said, oh, this is one of my favorite movies of all time, please watch this movie before you die, and they were like, "Nah. I already saw The Artist."

sigh...

I had no reason to believe that Aang was in any danger

Well duh. There's no way he could lose.

@ginger You'll like Amon probably. I don't like him because he's super arrogant, and I can't stand arrogance. Hopefully he'll get taken down a notch eventually.

Wait a minute, do we not have a trope page for the 20s version? Frustration!

Urg, I've had to create so many film pages lately.

An my favorite one where a character walks in with flowers is the one where the moon walks into Sokka and Suki kissing. Even Bryan liked it a lot.

You really do love replying to really old conversations, don't you?

Well I read every post and reply if I think of something to reply with and I'm not likely to accidently doublepost. I can't help it that I have to stay away from the thread for such long periods of time nowadays.

Condo: Wait, you recommended The Thief of Baghdad, and they compared it to The Artist? Because all silent films are the same, right? You may as well recommend someone watch a Chaplin film when they want a Keaton film. That sort of ignorance makes me want to flip a table.

@story I meant more because Ozai hadn't really been set up as humongously powerful. (we'd been TOLD that sure, but we hadn't really seen it) He needed a prior episode where he curbstomped Aang. (like maybe Day Of Black Sun)
