Again, I'm surprised to say I actually liked this episode. My one and only gripe is the ending—personally I was thinking "The CMC should just let Diamond Tiara run embarrassing stories on them. It's only fair." What they did instead feels a little dishonest by comparison.

Other than that... I love the CMC. They really ought to just turn this into the CMC show.

I liked this one, especially the parts about Big Macintosh. It also had a good lesson that was not only about how spreading rumors and gossip can be hurtful and about respecting the privacy of others, but also about being honest when one has made a mistake. I also liked seeing Diamond Tiara actually get scolded by Cheerilee for once and having her get ink splattered was the icing on the cake (or the ink on the pony). I'm VERY relieved that Cheerilee actually blamed Diamond Tiara (or at least implied that she knew that the gossip was Diamond Tiara's fault since she was stripped of her position but the CMC were not kicked out of the newspaper club), rather than making the CMC take all the blame while Diamond Tiara goes off free.

I wonder if DT would actually do the lower level job she got demoted to. The paper doesn't seem to be mandatory, since the Crusaders weren't working on it at the start of the episode.

@Red Savant: A lot of fan tidbits. Celestia gorging on cake, Big Macintosh has a surprisingly long rant at Apple Bloom over her paper, Big Macintosh's picture with the Smarty Pants doll, and even a mention of fan-favorite Trixie.
