The problem with making longer episodes is that very few networks are willing to give up the ad space to run the show. This ruins a show's chances for syndication later on, or forces them to edit things to make them fit.

How can a musical be depressing? I guess if we're talking about ships... well, I actually don't have one I particularly like the most. Except for possibly Applejack X Rainbow Dash. Yet I still read shipping fanfiction... including gay and (gasp) heterosexual stuff.
