I don't care how many episodes have first season. I only care for show to be long and I enjoyed it.

HEY HEY HEY MOUSA I CAN COLOR LIKE YOU CAN NOW I HAVE A SIMILAR PROGRAM AND I COLORED 8D
I too am confused about how a season could last over a year.
If there is anything that you are alone in thinking, it's "thinking that you're alone in thinking of your theories".
I'm British so I'm biased, but I honestly think
8-12 episodes is fine for a season. Although that aplies more to live action shows.
I'll do a thing. I don't know. It's a thing in progress. Respect the thing.
Oh, it appears that in cases of a 65 episode season, they were airing every day, not every week.

I could never understand British way. Shows from UK are so short.

Quality over quanity. Would you rather have 8 amazing episodes or 26 mediocre episodes?
Again, this aplies more to live action shows.

26. The best episodes can come out of the filler episodes where they decide to explore some crazy possibilities.

But you still have a load of mediocre episodes.

All it make me feel that I watched cancelled show after one season (sometimes less).

Dalek: There is no absolute. Some episodes will be better than others, but it will allow more people to watch and decide what episodes they like best. There is no absolute amount that people can write before they start sucking.
I guess daily airings would work for a 65 episode season, but with that you would have to either produce the whole season before hand, or go really cheap on the animation. Both options probably run animators ragged. It's just more economically sound to go for shorter, quality over quantity seasons, and if you need more episodes you get another season.
Then you have stuff like
Blue's Clues where they literally air the same episode over and over.

@kyun Well there's me, Applelight, Ginger and proberly some more.

Season 2 is better than season 1 imo. Season 1 took a while to grow the beard. The early episodes were enjoyable but not as much as later ones.

Does it really matter how many episodes there are in a season? I'd expect quality to be more a function of how often they're expected to crank out an episode, and how much resources they have in terms of budget and manpower. A longer season just means, well, a longer season.
you will go to the paper towns and you will never come back
All those shows like Red Dwarf or Black Adler have good episodes but not that good to justified having such short season. I prefer american shows with long season. More fun.

I do agree, so far this season has been slightly better. Because the lesson don't always need to be learned by one of the Main Six anymore, a lot can be done with only a handful of the cast being featured in an adventure instead of all 7 main characters, making room to explore the world more. I seen people hate this season for this same reason too.
