Not always. I see fanart of her skinny too. Plus, with her broader, that way the cast would be more varied and tell kids that appearance doesn't matter.

@Purple Dalek, you must be in some weird circles because the unspoken rule is generally all of them are skinny. I'mma rebel.

I know it will never happen, but I'd love to see a Very Special Episode focusing on Derpy, showing how awesome she can be! I'm sure fanfics have been written about that too.

The Pony fanmusic is getting good now, although I still feel the Touhou fandom has a massive headstart in that arena, with amazing things like Starmine and other crazy-good hits in all departments, even traditional Japanese.

Memewise they've almost caught up, although with the megamassive cast of Touhou girls and at least one meme per girl, there's still a large gulf of memetic grow to match.

On the other hand, it's one of the fastest-growing fandoms yet, so yeah. Give it time. At least it's the US answer to the juggernaut that is Touhou (Which not has its own convention in Reitaisai, but also hijacks numerous other cons).

On a less clean note, Ponies are not immune to Japanese fandom rule 34 :V

@Dalek: I know, but it's fun to compare the fandoms to see whether G4 ponies can completely and utterly eclipse classic ponies and grow so massive they end up with some kind of Touhou-tier self-perpetuating fandom.
