Is Ponichan not working for any of you guys? For a long time now I haven't been able to get it to load.

I always feel disappointed when I see "Troll Post" - I'll never know what was said.

I gather it was referring to that "Brownies" video. The "deputy" line was funny, otherwise, eh...

It was kind of borderline. Calling adult male fans of the show creepy, in a not-terribly-aggressive way. Didn't seem to really upset anyone, so I guess the action was more a matter of policy.

Haha, thanks a lot, now I see it too. Which makes me realize if I were to add effects for eye glow and horn glow, it would change the drawing to more of a "Twilight Sparkle is about to pwn you."

Oh, I got it wrong - it was ponibooru that wasn't working for me, but it's fine now, it seems.

Ponibooru doesn't work properly for anyone. If it loaded any slower it wouldn't load at all.

^ Got that damn right. I actually gave up on it weeks ago... that, and Pynky Py is apparently a genius -_- which just ruined my friendship with her.

Hehe. Yea, I don't browse Ponibooru for that reason. I don't know how Sethisto can root through that for the drawfriends. If I have to view an image from there, I'll usually open it in a new tab and do something else while it loads.

I've given up on trying to use the Desktop Pony sprites for my game, so now I have to draw all the sprites myself. Does anyone know any good references to look at? Particularly straight on views of ponies walking or jumping.

^There's a good sideways shot of Twilight walking in the pilot episode, I think... or maybe I'm thinking of the first Zecora episode, when she and Spike are walking through deserted Ponyville.

If you're including a run mechanic, may I suggest Dash's run-along-the-ground-while-flying trick as a model for hers?

Hmmm, straight on shots are a bit tough to come by. If I may ask, what do you need straight on (we are talking about shots where the ponies are facing the camera head on, right?) shots for in a platformer?

Anyway, episode 2 has everypony other than Fluttershy charging the Manticore. I know it's running, not walking, but it may still be helpful. As for Fluttershy, I think Green Isn't Your Colour has some good stuff when she's running away from the crowds. A Dog and Pony Show has them trotting around in front of the dirt mounds too, so there may be something usable there. As far as jumping goes... try Dragonshy and Feeling Pinkie Keen, I guess?

Not strictly related, but I keep reading "drawfriends" as "drawfiends".

I like how they do tips and tricks to streamline the production animation pipeline for the characters. Their front head views are just circles. JUST. CIRCLES. Yet they make them look correct with the animation! Love it!

I swear some of the ponies look REALLY weird from the front. Most are ok. but Twilight and especially Celestia put me off for some reason

I found it weirdest with Applejack.

It's odd with Celestia because her muzzle's not round by any stretch of the imagination. Her face should have some definition to it from the front, but it doesn't.
