Further away from dragons. I think they were still in the forest.

Considering some of the things ponies have done, I would think there are some who would be able to survive an encounter with a dragon.

I guess they can get by with the whole "Dragon's are rare in Equestria" thing. Still kind of bugs me.

she did something she has done tons of times with a bit more finesse, and even then it took her a few trys to pull it off. and no she did not teleport "halfway across a country" we have no evidence for HOW far she portered at all.

I still don't see how she is "overpowered". I mean, if this was a shonen series, maybe, but in this show her magic can't actually solve hardly anything. Magic can't solve friendship problems, so her actual level of power is irrelevant in the context of the show.

I think that migration is sort of a big Dragon convention. You meet... let the kids play together, mate, and generally be social before you go back to being a loner for another 50-100 years.

@Perpetual: This. A thousand times this. How strong she is doesn't freaking make any difference unless it's used as a Deus ex Machina, which it isn't and never has been.

Because she isn't overpowered if her magic never solves any problems. More often than not it just creates more.

@ Ginger: She does nothing overpowered. She levitates some binoculars. She teleports Spike and Rainbow a tiny distance and her group a moderate distance.

Too be fair on the dam thing, we saw in 'It's about time' that the dam was still in poor repair after twi magically fixed it.

On the subject of wings. The leader teen said something about Spike riding on his moms back to be apart of the migration. This leads me to believe that younger dragons stay home, and the wings are indeed gained with age.
