I don't mind Cadence being a shameless toy plug. I like the toys, have been collecting MLP since I was a kid. I had a whole ton of em but when I moved out of my parents house I left some behind in the attic and my mom put them out at a yardsale. I was heartbroken.

My first pony was Snuzzle.

I'm just kidding around, I don't really mind either. There's no reason for me to mind. Either she doesn't affect the show, or she affects the show by actually appearing in it, in which case I have enough faith in the writers that she'll still be interesting.

Candence is actually the head of the Equestrian military and the one who directly trains the Special Ops. She uses the Pink Princess motif as a cover to better relate to her students and fellow soldiers and to prevent the general public from being unnecessarily intimidated by her. Shining Knight is relatively new recruit who makes up for his complete and seeming inability to fight and possibly fitness for the Royal Guard with a strong personality and commitment to his dream of being a Royal Guard. Cadence was impressed by Shining Knight's determination and became his personal tutor, which eventually evolved into romance and eventually wanting to tie the knot.

I get the feeling that Cadence's "Alicorness" will probably not be touched upon. In fact i wouldn't be surprised if she ended up not being an Alicorn in the show.

According to Lauren Faust, she initially wasn't. She has no idea why Hasbro apparently changed it.

Also, upcoming Spike episode. That should be nice for world-building/fanon-destroying.

That's actually kind of why I suspect she may not be an Alicorn in the show proper. Depending on how late in the development they were they probably couldn't change it. It wouldn't be the first time the toy of a character didn't match up to how they looked in the show.

Currently passing on through Lanayru, got through the mines and am now in the desert. Also did that sidequest looking for the little girl in Skyloft. I question the intelligence of Skyloft's citizens for never bothering to look through the mysteriously locked shed next to the graveyard and find the big damn blue monster Batman look-alike's home.

The fuck is it with small children and graveyards, anyways? This girl and that kid who hangs around Kakariko Graveyard should qualify as creepy children.

Anyways, my parents come back from Mexico. No more fast food or microwavables, I get people foooood.

While the toy models tend to be inaccurate, the vectors on the box art are usually much better, because they use actual assets from the show. So I wouldn't put any money on her being any different, physically at least.

This is off topic, I realize, I just want to get this down before it completely slips away. I had a very bizarre, but very good dream. IT was, of course, pony related(for the first half at least). It began with the return of Discord, but he has no intention of causing chaos at all - in fact, he appears before Twilight wanting to get to know her more, and to be her friend. A lot of it is really vague, but a lot of it is a comedy of errors, as Discord attempts normalcy and sort of fails at it. Not to mention Twilight is actively trying to hide the fact that he's back from her friends, the princess - and her parents and her sister, who for some reason were living with her in the dream. I'm thinking something might have started blending in at that point, because her father's name was Sushi for some reason. Anyways, Discord tries to be a pony and sort of fails at it, and he eventually 'gives up' and decides to just become Twilight's pet - because he's obviously not good at being a pony but he still wants to be friends with Twilight.

At this point things start to blend heavily with Mass Effect, for some reason. He meets up with Conrad Verner and some random AI and the three of them sort of concoct some scheme to get them all appreciated... but it leans more heavily to mass effect so it's significantly less on-topic here.

Anyways, the dream as it was was pretty interesting. I had actually dreamed a few good gags, but I can't remember exactly what they were. The whole things really felt like watching an episode - I was ready to come here and proclaim it my favorite, in fact.

Twilight did a cameo in my dream last night. I was walking through a library and she was reading a book. Thats all I remember about the dream though :( I like it when they stick with me longer.

So, I finally saw May the Best Pet Win after skipping it initially. I guess it was okay. Although I was a little irritated at some of Dashie's behavior. And yes, I know I'm slow on this.
