I was glad that she had the decency to put herself in danger along with the prospective pets. Though the fact that she initially went looking for a pet based on how "awesome" it was rubbed me the wrong way. I'm glad she changed her tune at the end.

She prehaps should have voiced some concerns at Dash...like 'don't kick the tortise'...and 'maybe you should ease up on the put downs'...and 'don't encourage them to risk their lives just to impress you'.

I haven't forgotten it. Dash is my least favourite mane pony, and the only mane pony I come close to disliking.

I didn't see the race itself as too bad, since she was also putting herself in danger as well. Even if she was more familiar with the layout of the canyon.

It's not like she corralled a bunch of animals from Fluttershy's place and forced them to do a bunch of dangerous stuff. They all had the opportunity (and were told) to drop out; the ones who made it to the final round wanted to be Dash's pet, too. See the falcon and how he presumably went to go drown his sorrows after the end of the race.

I was a bit surprised that falcon bowed out fairly gracefully at the end, when Dash decided she preferred Tank. He even shook his hand/foot in congratulations.
