I've watched all the episodes out so far, and am rather surprised my how awesome it is. Firstly, I did not expect for there to be singing. The main character is a loner bookworm with a Type-A personality which is an interesting combination. All the six ponies have more fleshed out characters in the first two episodes than some characters over seasons. Hilarious dynamics there. Confound these ponies, they drive me to drink◊ indeed.

Also, I now have the urge to find out where I could purchase Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie dolls.

I gotta admit I'm not familiar with the eighties series outside of the pilot episodes but did it really get that effed-up?

It would hurt to check out Toys R Us. According to some guy collectors, Rarity seems to be living up to her name.

Welllll...deadly peril was a frequent thing, and the gallery of villains and monsters could have filled the Dungeons&Dragons Monsters Manual. Threats have included a demonic overlord out to cause eternal night, a genocidal penguin king out to exterminate all non-penguin races, an inter-dimensional invasion, evil flowers...

And yet, at the same time, we had these cutesy, adorable protagonists trying to have garden parties, eat cakes, sing, dance, and lead happy lives in their magical land. In-between fighting all the aforementioned villains, sometimes to the death.

So...it WAS pretty effed-up. Like I said on rpg.net, it kinda had a "the Disney Princesses move to Sunnydale" feel.

So "the Disney Princesses move to Sunnydale". Does that make it bad or just weird?

Weird. But also reasonably interesting. You know how Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha took a supposedly "girly" genre and made something out of it that tons of guys eagerly watched?

My new favorite thing

So, after reading some posts here about how good this series was, I decided to watch a few episodes... and I agree holeheartedly. This series is funny, well written, aand adorable. It's awsome.

[ The Subject of New Threads & The Generals ]

Please check the MLP:Fi M Thread Locator and Archive before going out and about and starting a new thread. /co/ doesn't mind if we stay in a general thread, but the biggest complaint I see from them is that there are multiple threads.

A new general should not be made until the official general is on the brink of autosaging into 404 hell, or is at the image limit (150 pics). Once a new one is established, it should be posted at the end of the old general and everyone needs to herd themselves to the next.

Obviously trolls & haters cannot be helped.

New System: When the old general thread dies, the general thread image is to be deleted and placed onto the new one. Old general will be archived. New system thanks to Archive!noTe.poNY.

Pinkie Pie's announcing is awesome. Also slippery hotdogs and so many of us thought ponies were vegetarians.

Looking at the race, I had competiton in my mind.

Every other Pony represensts casual racers.

Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash, however, represents hardcore racers.

Well, that's what I thought.

Watched it earlier. I really, REALLY wanted to slap those two: Rainbow Dash for being too stubborn to accept that Applejack didn't cheat, and Applejack for starting the whole mess by basically going, "It's all fun and games! Who cares who wins?... BTW, I won. :D"

How does Celestia walk around in broad daylight without guards?

I heard some rumor flying around that apparently she might be coming again near the season's end.

I hope so! It seems like a bum rap if she's just shunted off to the same old "Well, she looks after nighttime and nothing happens at night so we can just ignore her" shtick that kinda drove her nuts in the first place.

This show continues to prove to me one of the most amazing American cartoons, no, pieces of animation in existence. Everytime I get an episode it makes me happier and happier.

And I am sad that we have most likely heard the last of Flutterguy.

I'll just leave this here.
