Luna and Celestia are the top of the top when it comes to good guys. Hence why I don't want Luna resting at the very top

I've never not assigned Laughter to Celestia.

Fallen Luna/Nightmare Moon was a villain. And at present time, Celestia has 1000 years of experience on Luna, effectively.

I assign Magic, Loyalty, and Laughter to Celestia. Honesty, Generosity, and Kindness go to Luna.

Well she's clearly not currently at the top. She had to start from scratch after the Elements took away her power.

The only real issue is Loyalty. Luna seems like she should have it as the younger, subservient sister, but then again she did actually betray her sister. But ALL of the current harmony holders have betrayed their element at some point.

@Blue I dislike that excuse. If it's not the focus, and if you're not suposed to give any thoght to it, then why include it in the show in the first place.

I double negatived because you implied that Celestia with Laughter was something I haven't done yet, with your itallics.

Anyway, I give Luna Magic, Honesty (or perhaps Loyalty), and Generosity.

Generosity especially is something I think fits her and her story.

Loyalty works because when she fell, she "betrayed" the Elements she held, which is why, I think, Celestia was able to use them for herself. The Elements left Luna.

@Ginger: That's not really my point. My point is, in a show about combat/conflict, there would be a great deal of focus on character's power, allowing us to rate them clearly. This show simply doesn't give enough evidence to draw a conclusion from.

Celestia used all six to banish Nightmare Moon. That's right there in the prologue.

Oh god. This is why I always dread this subect.

They're godesses. Why should we assme that they follow the same rules of element ownership that regular ponies do? For that matter, do we KNOW that a pony can only weild one element at a time?

Article C: Then why did Twilight need friends if she could just use them all on her own? Article D: There is no evidence that they didn't have help in the form of other ponies wielding the other Elements. Article E: The Elements are supposed to be about friendship and togetherness, so making them wieldable by less than six ponies defeats the point of them.

Wasn't the element of magic only formed when Twilight figured out she and her friends were the element bearers?

I like to think that Celestia was only able to banish Nightmare Moon instead of cleansing her was because she tried to use all six alone. The Elements' strength comes from harmony between people. Unilateral use of them can't bring out their full power.

Which is why the Main Six did the same thing to Discord as Celestia and Luna did way back when. Because back then, the two sisters were in harmony with each other, so they were able to use the Elements to their full potential.

The storybook showed six gems.

It's like with the power level thing; it's not the focus of the show, so it never gets enough screentime for us to figure out how they work. We've only ever seen the elements at work twice, both of which were when the sisters didn't possess them. We simply don't have enough info about how they work for us to do anything but guess.

To make the world seem more filled out? If we got rid of every element of the show that wasn't focused on, there wouldn't be much of a show?

Wrex (to Luna): So, who'd win in a fight between you and Celestia?

Please note that the following is merely how I understand things.

A: Magic is not the strongest element, just the one that the fewest pones are attuned to.

B: Powerwise: EOH > Discord > Nightmare Moon > Celestia > Luna

C: Restraint is indeed impressive, but the fact that Luna uses her magi so much implies that he's more adept with it than with more mundane things. (I'm pretty uncertain which sister had magic myself).

D: Luna can take on the form of Nightmare Moon, but has lost her powers.

E: Ths is a bit of a pet peeve of mine: Powerlevels have utterly zilch to do with how good a character is! In fact, Luna being weaker than Celestia is part of what I like about her as I identify with her falability and the Always Someone Better situation.

But guessing and extrapolating is fun!
