@Enlong She let herself get kidnapped because she was planning on the Mane Cast to purify Luna (something that she couldn't do with the elements)

"Want"?
I dunno about that.
It just seemed the logical conclusion, reading the story from the first episode, is all.
And there's nothing saying she isn't stronger
now.
Actually, it is perfectly reasonable to think that she used the Elements because it was more of a sure thing than a straight confrontation.

Actually, I think what L Mage just said is closer to what I think.

Sorry, I don't like people insulting Celestia's power. She's like my 3rd favourite character.

I do hope that they actually go into what really caused Luna to turn into Nightmare Moon in a future episode...
Idea for a story I had: In the future (like, 10 years later, when the crew has all gone their separate ways but still keep in touch), Twilight goes on a journey to investigate whatever it was that corrupted Luna and transformed her into Nightmare Moon, despite Luna's warnings. She gets corrupted and returns to threaten Ponyville, and since she is the holder of one of the Elements the group cannot use the Elements against her.
I had a whole lot of ideas for the plot, the way the characters had changed over the years, their current jobs and accomplishments, etc. Of course I don't write fanfic so...
If I die tomorrow/ I'll be alright/ because I believe/ that after we're gone/ the spirit carries on.

Nobody has actually insulted her though.

I'm not
insulting her, honest. I just thought that's what the storybook implied. There are other explanations, to be sure.
And I never really intended a power level thing: I just thought that Magic made sense as one of Luna's elements, thinking that the six were of roughly equal power.
For the record, I peg Celestia as Laughter, Kindness, Honesty, and Luna as Magic, Loyalty, Generosity.
Honesty and Loyalty could be changed, but I think Laughter, Magic, Kindness, and Generosity are in the right places.

@Bad it does when the character you're claiming is stronger is Luna.
sorry, sorry. Looking at her personality, I really don't like the idea of her being able to casually kick Celestia's ass.

Cadence > Celestia > Luna

I don't think she even beat Celestia. "Capturing" is not the same as "Beating".
Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
I'm saying that I rank power levels in different strata based on personality. With the exception of villains, I don't like Hot headed, impulsive types at the very top.
Luna can kick ANYONE'S ass for all I care (I even love imagining it) just not Celestia's

Considering that, if it
was a legitimate capture, that Celestia had been expecting it for a millennium? I'd say it'd be a legitimate win. Though,
because of that circumstance, it was probably a ploy by Celestia.
And again, I only think that
Nightmare Moon would be stronger than Celestia, at the time that she fell. She took on those dark powers
for the purpose of being "greater" than her sister. If she could not win her subjects' love, she would demand their
fear. Very Machiavelli of her.

So you prefer, say, Trixie to be weaker than Twilight?

Guys, this is a slice of life show. It's not Dragon Ball Z.
