^^^He pulled Rarity's scarf off of her to absorb a spilled drink that he could have stepped around. And used her as a shield for the cake. Rarity or not, that's kind of a jerk move.

He's an asshole; we're legally required to hate him, just like we're required to hate Gilda for terrifying poor Granny Smith.

"You're my favourite Princess ever!"
Not only that...
He goes against what the mane six are all about. He's rude, obnoxious, and just a downright asshole.
Nothing is cooler than science and ponies
Yeah, still...Picking on old people for a joke; that's just too far.
"You're my favourite Princess ever!"
I'd like to see Gilda come back and learn her lesson; she's a jerk, but I kinda got the feeling she could get better.
Maybe; picking on Granny Smith was entirely independent of her issues with Rainbow Dash and the mane cast, so maybe not, but... hm. I could try to write that, maybe...
But Blueblood isn't a deep person. He's very shallow, and it's not really his
fault, but it's inarguable that he's unconcerned with anything but himself.

"Some people we like BECAUSE their assholes. This fandom seems to hate people like Gilda and Blueblood with the fiery hot intensity of a million foreman grills."
A lack of likable qualities or any expression of repentance for their actions or attitudes goes a long way in finding themselves is disfavor with the audience.
Even Trixie wasn't that jerkish, and she had other aspects to her, and she was hammy so it was kinda funny.
Snips and Snails almost got their town destroyed but they aren't jerks and said they were sorry.
Luna tried to bring about eternal darkness and even she said she was sorry and put her jealousy behind her.
Because "for the lulz" is a perfectly good reason to do something.
^^^Yeah; it's in his, well, blood. I'd love to see Trixie and Gilda come back, though; they're definitely the most memorable of the guest characters.
Celestia's not Xanatos, guys! D=

Or is she...?
Because "for the lulz" is a perfectly good reason to do something.
Dudes, Celly is TOTALLY Xanatos.
Albet, a kind, caring and benevolent one.
She's a mixture of Mr. Rodgers, Xanatos, Deadpool, and God.
Make that of what you will

Morgan Freeman.
Because the Morgan Freeman god has that element of 'Socratic Method' teacher. Look at Bruce Almighty for example

Imagine if Celestia
looked a thousand years old?
She'd be all like "Nyyyyyyyyyyrrrr *drool drool* And whhhhhhhat hhhhhhhhhave you learned today my faithful sssstudent?"
Twilight: Get her away get her away get her away; oh God I hope she doesn't touch me...

"You're my favourite Princess ever!"
Actually my interpretation is that she's selfish and loves being in charge, but genuinely tries to keep her subjects happy (hey you catch more flies with honey)

Fair enough, Anemoi, fair enough.
Celestia's definitely benevolent. She just likes to have fun every now and again, and who can blame her?

well if your trixie/Gilda fan they are one of the 'teams' in my game/story long with a trio of...unusual...allies
7 friends, a robot, and a spirit, will find a way to protect us...if it kills them.
If I had to place her...
She'd have her own category:
Lawful Chaotic.
She respects the boundaries of others, and seeks to maintain order in the world, yet she does not remain stagnant in her own rules. She frequently goes out of her way to have her own brand of fun.
Nothing is cooler than science and ponies
Lawful... Chaotic...
*head explosion*
That makes sense, though. Well said.
Incidentally, I was trying my hand at making some Celestia propaganda; the Summer Sun Celebration scene from "Cutie Mark Chronicles" seemed like it had a lot of potential, so I tried mocking up a symbol reminiscent of the sunburst and Celestia's wings. It needs some simplification still, I think, but
what do you all think?
