Given the way it looked, I bet the Bog is counted on the outskirts of the Forest. So it's safe enough and ponies go there often enough that it's really, really unusual to see something like a Hydra there.

I mean, 'Froggy Bottom Bog' is not an intimidating name, so the ponies who named it can't find it that scary.

So, I'm up to Fall Weather Friends. According to you all, I will apparently think RD is a jerk and that AJ is completely in the right? Well, that's fine. I like AJ.

Going to try for neutrality, so I'll note that while RD is arguably cheating by flying, AJ should have called her on it and put that into the rules. RD's athleticism is largely based on flying, after all.

My stance is that Rainbow was cheating, but Applejack should have called her on it when if first came up. Waiting till the very end just makes her look a bit like a sore loser. So they both screwed up the competition.

Like I said, I do feel that she was cheating, but since AJ didn't say anything, that means she accepted that wings were fair game.

@Crow That's just it, Crow. She WASN'T cheating, because it wasn't TECHNICALLY against any of the rules.

It's still a fucking POOR display of sportsmanship though, and she goes against the very point of most of those events.

She trusted Rainbow to come to her senses and stop by herself. In that situation she had TOO MUCH faith in her friends

RD clearly knew that she shouldn't use her wings, otherwise she would've been using them from the start

Shrug, so you say, but AJ still should have said not to do it again. If there is no declaration of a handicap, when someone doesn't do it to themselves it should be pointed out upon first use.

But this is a competition two friends hashed out in a day, not the Olympics. Of course they aren't going to have rules covering everything. Just because there isn't an encyclopedia sized rule book doesn't mean you can go looking for exploits, since that's going against the spirit of the competition. Pulling the "it isn't technically against the rules" card in a friendly competition is just a dick move.

Not sure where I'm going with this. Whatever. As soon as it became an issue they should have paused to determine the legality of wings, not let it slide for the rest of the contest.

On a different note, I have to pity Spike a little for having to put up with announcer Pinkie Pie. Pinkie is okay but he's just so confused.
