Alright, next up is Eventua's filly alicorn, Flegatyk. The pose is kind of boring, but for a pony representing calmness, I thought having her stand stock still, only watching out of the corner of her eye was appropriate.

For those who are wondering, I'll probably also be doing my next comic page either tomorrow or Wednesday. The DA training grounds group that popped up is doing weekly themes, so I'm probably going to use those to continue the narration in the same 'totally just winging it' style as before.

Just keep at it. Going into the training grounds, I had minimal pony drawing experience, but quite a bit of experience drawing people in something resembling a manga style and I still had quite a bit of trouble. It really doesn't help that MLP style ponies actually have pretty bizarre proportions compared to real ponies.

That's why I may start referring to My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic as "the mutant deer show!" (I might have to call G3.5 "the mutant puppies show" too.)

This need to be canon.
Maybe, but I dunno, I still haven't ruled out the possibility that Nightmare Moon was all just a big prank the sisters played on Twilight when Luna was back in town for a friendly visit.

Okay, I am finding the colt versions of At The Gala far too amusing.

I was reading through Daniel Ingram's Facebook, and I was rather surprised to discover that the orchestra in 'At the Gala' was all MIDI tracks.

@ neko and Kuroi don't worry guys you can do it. I can recommend some books, but as Any good artist ( not me) try referencing real life equine anatomy that will surely help.

If you guys want to learn how to draw this book is super Essential.

@Fallen Hehe, actually, I think trying to relate them too much to real life equines IS my problem. I have a guide book with a basic skeletal type of guidelines that I just take a quick glance at whenever I'm feeling confused (I had to look at it a lot when I first started drawing ponies, which shows that the training grounds have taken me quite far), but surprisingly (for a manga book) the proportions are closer to real and on top of that, it's actually a guide for regular horses. So when trying to draw in the show's style, there's a good chance I need to stop and correct myself because I made the head a bit too small (seriously, ML Ps have massive heads) and I make the torso too long. You probably have all noticed that I still tend to make the heads a little smaller and the torsoes a little longer than the show, which has become a stylistic choice now.

Do Ponies have the same kind of life-span as people, or do they live about as long as real horses? Cause if the later is the case I'd estimate Granny Smith is about 30 years old.

[up][up]It hasn't been touched on as far as I know, probably because nobody really wants to think about stuff like "Rainbow Dash will be dead in only 30 years". I'd guess they age at a human rate, if only because there's so much other personification going on that it would be kinda weird if they didn't. But really, it could be either.

[up][up]Okay, that's...hilarious.

I now have the urge to make my own PMV, but I have a feeling it would suck, and it's likely that I'm the only person who would find the idea funny anyway.
