@ Japanese Teeth Is there anything I should keep in mind when writing Twilight or Rainbow Dash. cuz i'm gonna be giving them a lot of of speeches, and i'm nervous

Applejack: Applejack is standing by Iron Forge, the pony smith. TS: Any luck getting those shoes off your hooves? Applejack shakes her head: None sugarcube, any luck finding Rainbow Dash? TS shakes her head: But I thought if we all headed over there again we might be able to come up with a idea.

Applejack nods: Sounds like a plan sugarcube.

[Applejack has joined the party!]

Rairity: TS: Hi Rarity! Find out anything? R: As a matter of fact Darlin' seems some of the unicorns who went to investigate the barrier haven't come back in several days. Most alarming is that the ones who did wear wearing my new Magic Weave saddle bags, they think that magic may somehow interact with the barrier, but they can't confirm I as others with my bags have returned. TS: Hummm...maybe it has to do with raw power? Were the missing Unicorns very powerful? R: Only potentially, none had unlocked their full potential just yet.

Spike coughs, flustered: A-Arent the Elements of Harmony...that is...all of you...and Dash...

TS: That is a good point Spike, maybe if we all work together!

Rairity: Well you can count me in darlin.

[Rairity joins the Party!]

Fluttershy: TS: Fluttershy... FS: I...uh...I tried to fly up like D-Dash did but uh... TS Nods FS: Then I tried to see if the Wonderbolts...you know...but...no...a-and (long beat) they lost Sorin'

If rarity is recruited TS: Spike suggested that maybe if we pooled our powers as Elements we might get results. If not TS: I was thinking maybe if we all went there a idea might present itself.

Fluttershy nods nervously: O-Ok.

[Fluttershy joins the Party!]

Once the team is assembled: TS: Alright everypony let's check out the barrier! AJ: I'm with ya sugarcube. FS: O...ok. Rairty: Lead on Darlin' Pinky Pie: Whooo! Everyone is together, it's time for a party! TS: Not now Pinkie Pie! PP: Awwwwww!

Once the party leaves the town, we transition to the barrier map, they arrive to see the barrier pulsing and head muted voices from the other side. Spreading out they stand in awe and confusion a moment. Suddenly a hole appears in it, and what looks like 9 creatures are magically holding it open, there is a suddenly burst of energy, knocking the Elements over and the entire barrier become semi translucent showing the ocean beyond, meanwhile a Gryphon leads 9 monsters through the hole they opened.

Gryphon: Go my Cloudsdale 9, this continent is our to do with as we please! Don't let anypony stop you, kill them if you must! Except any unicorns, bring me their horns!

TS: Stop! Who are you! What did you do to the Worlds' End?

Gryphon: Go! Leave these little ponies to me!

The monster split up and charge off, the gryphon charges.

Gryphon: First Blood is mine!

Battle Start! As the battle starts Pinkie Pie runs out into the middle of the field, facing down, toward the player.

“Alright since this is our first battle here are the basics.”

she runs over to the portrait menu “This shows the active party, the one highlighted is the one acting this turn.”

Then she runs over to the command menu “Everypony has 3 basic attacks: Headbutt, Charge, and Buck.”

She performs a headbutt on the Gryphon automatically: Headbutts do the smallest damage but have a chance to stun the target.

Then she charges: A charge does medium damage.

Then she Bucks; Bucking does the most damage.

Gryphon: Enough! Counter attack she knocked Pinkie back to th party line.

Pinkie: But can be interrupted

[Pinkie Pie is temporarily stunned.]

Pinkie: That's new...must be the bosses special effect.

Battle commences as normal.

I've only really written two chapters of content, and both of those have the characters in rather atypical situations. So I'm probably not the best person to ask. My only advice is to keep in mind that Twilight is the most "academic" of the ponies, so sometimes her dialogue sounds a bit more stilted then everyone elses. Rainbow Dash is just a cause of capturing her constant sense of overconfidence. She's very brash and speaks her mind about everything.

Other than that, I can't really give you any more pointers. I haven't really written a whole lot of MLP fics, so I haven't really had time to develop my style for these characters. I could use some pointers myself, especially when it comes to writing Fluttershy. I'm not the best at writing soft-spoken characters.

I know I've said this before, but does anyone else think that maybe it would be better if we moved all this fanfiction discussion to its own thread? Cause most of these last three pages have been about people and their fanfics.

nope, just found the hardest now. Rarity. I just can't bring her across as both The Libby and compassionate at the same time.

New Media? That's where the other fanfiction threads are.

Yeah, A fanfic thread probably would be a good idea. I know we were kicking the idea around earlier, and it worker wonders in clearing out the Negima! thread when we made a separate fanfic thread for it. All the other series-specific threads are in New Media, so that's probably the best place for it.

I think at this point, such a thread WOULD be helpful

Yep, there's a Pony Fanfiction thread now.

From now on all my fanfic announcements will be there.

Incidentally, I'm no longer uploading stories on Google Docs. I'm going to start an alternate blog account for the posting of my fanfics.

I no longer have the YF pony thread on my watchlist, but I almost always post in it when it's bumped, especially if it means I can discuss the show with the people who don't post here.

It doesn't get nearly as much activity as this one, though.

I never even paid attention to the length of either thread, actually. I just noticed that the other one doesn't get bumped as often.

Yea, when I was first lurking, I was watching both the Yackfest and this one and I thought the Yackfest one died, so I stopped paying attention to it.

When I first kicked up on TV Tropes, Yack Fest had us beat. By a fair margin, actually. Then Gelzo kicked us all out of Yack Fest into here.

But a brave contingent of bronies still hides in yack fest, letting their thread fall beneath the radar lest they be corralled into Western Animation with the rest of us. For they fight to spread the tide of Friendship and Magic, fair bronies. Yes, it is they, on the front line of our /b/, who help our noble cause to make it's way through the internet, planting the seeds of happiness and truth to oneself in the hearts and minds of all who pass through Yack Fest's hallowed threads, so that they might take it to all other places that they visit like so many birds spreading pepper seeds(minus the defecation, of course). Pray for them, fair bronies, pray that they can spread our message. Pray that someday MLP:FIM is accepted in all corners of the internet, and someday perhaps the real world! For it is only on that day that these brave men and women will allow themselves reprieve, that they will step out of their foxholes, out of their dugouts, out of their watchtowers, and join hands with us in joy of the wonderful show we have been given! 9/ 10, I only come to Western Animation for the Pony thread. Yack Fest is my regular hang out so I often go to the Pony thread closer to home, so to speak.

Sometimes I peruse the other WA threads. It feels weird, as I am a member of Toon Zone (which also happens to be the site I got linked here from in 2008), it feels like I'm somehow ditching them.

I don't follow any other cartoons, so I never really look at the other WA threads. Well, aside from the Futurama thread.

In fact, for the few works whose threads I follow, I usually access them from my watchlist rather than their respective subforums.
