@Ginger: I can't give you a big essay on its flaws or anything, because the episode wasn't very memorable to me. I just remember that I didn't find it funny and I didn't find it particularly engaging in any other way either. Pretty much the whole episode was Apple Bloom constantly doing her new talents, which got old very quickly for me.

I sure do seem to have a lot of unpopular opinions!

@Mousa. I honestly don't mind if he doesn't like it. I just dislike it when people ignore character development from episodes they don't like yet demand character development nontheless.

Also, I like to know the why of things

I found that episode surprisingly dark, and the resuluation was a bit too Anvilicious for my taste but it was an OK episode.

Then again, my favourite characters from Code Geass were guys in the background who got maybe 3 minutes of screen time. I've gotten used to basing character development on REALLY innocuous things. Main characters just DON'T interest me most of the time

My main issue with The Cutie Pox wasn't so much that the moral was Anvilicious so much as that the moral AB learned at the end wasn't really what the episode was about. Like the episode was more functionally about "don't try to cheat your way ahead" more than "good things come to ponies who wait."

Spike crushing on Rarity is fine but the idea of it actually going somewhere is very bizarre to me. Spike is a baby, not to mention a whole other species.

Personally, I just don't think there's much more to do with it. I mean, Rarity doesn't really reciprocate, and she already knows how Spike feels, so I'm not sure what they'd do with the relationship outside of more joke fodder.

@Blue A baby who is very emotionally mature and has a FUCKED up aging cycle that renders the concept of "age of consent" meaningless. Least that's how I see it.

Also, Interspecies never really struck me as an issue

I wouldn't call Spike too mentally mature just yet, Ginger. I'd say he's at best twelve, mentally, and age-of-consent has very little to do with physical maturity.

I don't have anything against the interspecies part either, but given that it'll never actually happen in the show, the most I'm hoping for is some more gags involving Spike's plans for the day.
