The rest of the episode after Derpy flowed really well to me, and I was checking the time left on the video about half way through to make sure I wasn't at the end already. It really never had a dull moment. So, no, I don't think it hurt the pacing at all, and I was too busy laughing at it to notice it dragging any.

Actually, I really did like the Chase scene (ignoring Pinkie of course, though the moment where AJ got rid of her was pretty cool)

It really did remind me of A Very Special Blossom from PPG. Anyone remember that ep?

My interpretation of her wasn't that she was stupid

You know what's interesting?

Many people (myself included) practically went ballistic over the Mane Cast tricking Rainbow Dash in Mare Do Well.

In this episode the Mane Cast acted out of similar motivations but was far more overtly confrontational, using weaponized annoyance, a chase sequence, and bodily wrestling Applejack to the ground.

And yet I doubt we'll see a single person call them out on any of that.

I don't care what anyone says, that's the exact voice I've always imagined her to have. A bit on the deep, dumb side but a side of cheeriness.

My internal Derpy voice has always been Peirce Smoulder's, then person that does the Doctor and Assitant vids. Also the Derp Roll, ask Derpy, Derpy Mail, etc...

Yeah, I'm not hearing her as "stupid", just a bit scatterbrained and young-ish. I liked her voice, although I never really took into consideration how she would actually sound.

And would you care to elaborate on the similarities with the PPG episode? It's been forever since I've seen any of the show.

@Robbie I really like it too. Though, I never saw the videos that apparently had voiced her rather well before. It sounded a little slow, but not to the degree of, say Patrick Star or Ralph Wiggum. And I'll defend their characterization of her as sweet, well meaning, and always wanting to lend a hoof to the death if I have to. It does a great job of conforming to the popular "derpy" aspects of her fanon without making her a flat joke.

@Swa It wasn't REALLY similar, but it was the ep where Blossom stole golfclubs for the professor. Near the end Blossom starts getting really desperate about avoiding the truth and it ends with her sisters chasing her down and forcing her to the ground. It just reminded me of AJ is all.
