Heck, I really didn't like it to start, but I'm starting to warm up to it. I still have my complaints, but there's a lot to love.

I loved it. But only one of my three hopes were achieved...the daw moment.

I consider it a pretty good episode.

I'd say another one of those happened OFFSCREEN (though, the balls it must have taken for AJ to try that run across the train tracks was pretty awesome in and of itself)

I haven't been on /pony/ in ages. I know that those guys complain about EVERYTHING, so... Man. I know that /co/ always makes fun of them, but I thought it was just because of the whole hugbox thing.

Not that /co/ is much better, what with all the porn. Least it's usually spoilered there.

I liked it for the most part, it's just that there are one or two flaws that need to be addressed. The big one is the one Canonier brought up, specifically the "weaponized annoyance" thing. While I like the fact that Pinkie is finally being acknowledged as a bit annoying in-universe, I think the mane cast went too far when trying to get AJ to talk to them. I mean, trying to convince her to tell them what's going on is one thing, but trying to coerce her into telling them about it is overkill. It felt like they didn't really respect AJ's desire to keep the matter private. Not to say that AJ was right to hide it from them, but at the same time I think they went a little overboard.

Other than that it was pretty solid though. Derpy didn't turn out exactly how I had hoped, but the mere fact that she got a scene at all is a pretty awesome thing for the writers to put in, so I'm not going to complain that it doesn't quite fit my personal view of the character. It's looking a gift horse in the mouth, so to speak. (I apologize for the pun).

Pinkie ends up comically bloated from stuffing herself full of cherries

I have no issue with what the Mane Cast did. Sometimes friends need your help even if they won't admit it, they knew something was very wrong and they could either leave her alone and let the wrongness go on, or do everything ponyly possible to find out what's wrong and fix it. I see it as kinda like an intervention, not pleasant to do, but by far better then just letting your friend go on hurting themselves.

So, I just watched the episode, and really, only one thing is bothering me about it...

There seriously wasn't any prize money for fourth, third, or even second place? I would think that that many ribbons would come with a small fortune in prize money, even if none of them were for first place.

It also avoids the issue in MMDW in that there actually was an escalation of tactics. In MMDW, dressing up as a superhero to show RD up was Plan A. Here, they confronted her about it several times before using Pinkie.

They didn't have to sick the queen of OBNOXIOUS on her. They could've, oh I don't know, brought her family up and had them talk to her. Asked Jubilee, see if she had any kind of inkling as to what was going on.

I will admit that helped a lot, although I still think they overdid it a little. But we got the kickass chase scene out of it, so it's not too big of a deal.

Yeah it was done much better then in MMDW, since in that it was to try and teach RD a lesson, here it was to try and help AJ.

Oh but that wouldn't have been nearly as HIL-arious.

I'm in the "comedy excuses it" camp.

It's really lonely being in a camp that doesn't find somthing funny that ONLY works if you find it funny

The mane cast actually took a job, leaved their home town, took a chase for her, asked many people for her.

I don't see of what they did as bad either. They are friends after all and sometimes you need a little kick from your friends to help you.
