Yeah, it was Zip's birthday. I think they were a little annoyed they sprung the surprise for the wrong person, though - and Pinkie did give him some cake. =)
Regarding Mac - Granny was outright crying, but Teenage Mac was also tearing up when AJ left.

Wait, the telegram pony has a name? What?

You know, he had a fairly distinct voice too, and not in a bad way. That's rather uncommon for unnamed characters.
Was anybody else totally caught off-guard by Pinkie's whole "I have to use the bathroom" thing? I mean, it was hilarious, but it took me a second to register that holy crap, the show went there.
^Yeah, definitely. Did anyone catch who wrote this episode, by the way? I've been looking around for a bit and I can't seem to find a readable version of the opening.

Not me. As far as toilet humor goes, it was fairly tame.

There is nothing more offensive than science.
The same writer that gave us Applebuck Season. That's just a bit uncanny.

Amy Keating Rogers? Hm... I wonder what else she wrote...?
Also, I really liked Dashie in this episode. Someone in the Rarity Bronystate stream commented that this was the most Appledash-shippy episode since "Fall Weather Friends".

@Ginger: Rainbow has a cynical side, so she's much less trusting than her friends. Sometimes that can be a good thing. She also didn't buy Rarity's excuse back in Suite and Elite or whatever that ep was called.

Land Games . It's a sort of Homestuck/Starcraft kind of thing.
Rogers also wrote... wow, she's prolific. "Fall Weather Friends", "Bridle Gossip", "A Dog And Pony Show", "The Best Night Ever"... hey, I like all of those episodes.

@L Mage: Sounds like a good thing to me. Twilight is my 2nd fave, but she had focus for an entire season. I'm cool with them spreading the focus around. Now that we've got some Applejack episodes we need a Fluttershy one to round it out.
