I;'m a bit torn on my head cannon for Zap-apples. It sort of seems like it could be annual thing, but a the same time there's enough hints to make me think not. If it was annual, why make such a big deal? Why would they need Granny Smith to warn them that they are coming if they showed up every year? but mostly, why would this be the first time AB ever helpped out with making zap-apple jam?

Over all i'm thinking the Zap-apples are totally random, sometime every year, others only every few, maybe even twice a year once or twice.

I think the deal is that they only about once a year, but there's a window of a few months where they can pop up, and once you do, there's only a day or two to process them before they go poof, hence why it's such a big thing. There's a very limited supply, and it's apparently the best thing ever.

No not totally random. After all Apple Bloom mentioned that she's been looking forward to it, which means she must have had at least a vague idea that it was coming up.

I wouldn't say it's COMPLETELY random. Big Mac and AJ have certainly done it enough to be intimately aware of how it works, and for some reason I don't think it'd ever happen more than once a year.

but you're right, given the Family's excited reaction, it isn't a completely predictable event

I gotta say, AJ is like...the main character now or something!

She's been in every episode, had at least something important to do (S&E not withstanding!), and AB is really pulling her weight too!

Also, she has two episodes coming up...two! And they sound awesome!

This is AJ's season!

Now, if S1 was Twi's...that means every mane cast member deserves one...6 seasons ftw!

Yeah, remember Pipsqueak? He claimed it was his first Nightmare Night EVER? He was clearly more than 1 year old, so he must have been reffering to his ability to take part in the event. Same thing with Apple Bloom. She just wasnt old enough to help out before now.

I actually wouldn't mind a hypothetical Pinkie season if it they actually developed her character. Nor would really mind a season of Dash. Unless of course, she remains static throughout the whole season.

I always assumed pony maturation was really wonky.

My only complaint is that we haven't had a Fluttershy episode yet, and there doesn't appear to be one on the horizon. She's really gotten shafted this season.
