Rainbow Dash is a rather odd character. In any other cartoon she would probably be a recurring Jerk Jock antagonist, but in this case she is actually one of the good guys.

The closest analogue to her that I see in media are certain protagonist in shonen series like Naruto.

The same can be said about Rarity. I may hate RD but I acknowledge that she has redemign qualites that make her good character and prtoagonist.

Indeed, they are actually more similar then people think. In this case I think the writers have done a better job of making Rarity endearing despite her more Libbyish traits then Rainbow Dash.

Oh, and no. Naruto is not the same character that he was in the beginning. That being said I wouldn't recommend picking up the series now, it's kind of silly.

Unless we are counting the "rainnuke" in Lesson Zero, I don't think she can.

The challenge was in doing the first time (ok second, but first time that she was actually trying). Hell since the first time was completely accidental, as a filly, seems any challenge there was mentally enforced, and/ot just poor technique (the one hoof vs two outstretched thing). Once those were over come on Sonic Rainboom, why would there be more obstacles, other then for the sake of obstacles, which is even worse.

Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.

Yeah an that's great IMO I love how Rainbow and Rarity ( who would be villains in other shows are mane characters)

Its the show telling its ok to be yourself without labeling any kind of personality as "evil or bad"

Yeah they made Rarity a decent pony...Dash just needs a...tweak.

But at the end of the day, she safes ponies...can't fault that I guess.

But casual use of the SRB is BS.....

They always kept Rarity's key trait in focus: genorsity. The failed to do the same with Dash and loyalty.

RD reminds me of Black Star more than anyone else (and I know I've said that before)

I just don't hate RD... like, at all. I get irked at her skills whenver I'm in a funk and I start considering her overpowered, but I'm never annoyed by any aspect of her personality

Really, the best protagonist analog i can think of ATM is Darkwing Duck. Same basic issue, a deep down good and decent person/pony/duck that wants to do good and help people. But also has a gigantic ego that craves recognition for it and praise. Yet, when push comes to shove and it really matters, they can push past there own ego and do what's right.

I tried Naruto But couldn't get past the second episode didnt like any of the characters unfortunately. Dragon Ball Z remains my favorite

I just think the writers find it easier to write her as a jerk. They probably assume she is funnier that way as well.

Do not worry Ginger. The power of drama will sap away her super-speed and make her wings as tinfoil.

Naruto is one of those series that it takes a little bit to get into but once you do it's so very hard to break free.

I don't think the Rainboom is something she can do at will. She has to work hard to achomplish it and circumstances have to be just right. Like...in football a player can get a slamdunk, the can practice a slamdunk, but at the end of the day there is no guartene they can do it.

She's a bit of a Base Breaker. She dosen't have many fans around here.
