Nah, Twilight was most prominent in the first season. Other than that, I never really felt like there was one pony that got more attention; I think there were more ensemble episodes.

Yeah, I think the Dash hate is unfounded. The first season showed there's a non-jerk side to her personality, but unfortunately this season hasn't showed much of it.

I'm hurt by the Dash hate. Yes, she's boisterous and occasionally selfish, but is ultimately good-hearted. I mean aren't selfishness and one's image of themselves and the basic way that this clashes with societal expectations and norms in day to day life something most everyone struggle with at some point anyway?

There's a lot of overlap there. Ego is basically boosting oneself above others, which is pretty selfish on it's own.
