Uh, guys?
You
do know that a
spider monkey
is a real animal, right?
I have a message from another time...
What, does anyone not?
Hmm...if human were to be portrayed primarily as a carnivore...maybe monsters that tend to tear up their preys with both jaws and limbs?
I don't think we would make a particularly interesting mythological creatures. Either that or my imagination totally sucks.

Another fine day. It doesn't come by everyday.
Humans are creepily-hyperintelligent super-predators who have a virtually unlimited bag of tricks for catching their prey, mwahahahaaaaa.
But how would they associate those specific quality into one being?

Being wise...what are some mythological beings that are renowned for intelligence?

Should I be ashamed to admit that I did not, in fact, know this?
The end of the world as we know it. Like weekends usually are, but more dire.
Damn right, you should.
In many folktales, usually more dimunitive animals are associated with intelligence. Usually, mythological beings tend to be result of exaggeration of existing animals' quality. For example, snake shedding skins are translated into immortality in some mythologies. It is usually rare for those to result in physically dimunitive beings.

I'm sorry for bringing Elder Scrolls stuff into here, but how do you guys think the Elder Scrolls games would be, with ponies? Like how all would the names change and stuff?
Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
I would like an RPG for the ponies, something simple like adventuring to find something from the past.
Story of the Blanks had some retro sprites in it.
Can Fluttershy find Ye Flask?
And humans include me. which makes humans 20 percent cooler
Wait, a human with trained stamina can outrun a pony?
I was more talking about in mythological point of view, not general biology. What I was saying that human wouldn't really make a particularly interesting mythological creatures, considering that ponies are quite intelligent on their own.
Oh, and human can throw things too. I've never heard of animals doing javelin!

Plus we can't count out the fact that
Humans Are Insane, able to think up plans and/or willing to do things that would be either completely unthinkable to a pony or just flatout WRONG to them. Not to mention a much greater
willingness to kill ourselves for a greater good.
There are three constants in the universe: creation, destruction, and Fate. Guess which one am I? - Id the Imp
"Spider-Monkey" always makes me think of Twilight. It's Edward's pet name for Bella.
Please read my movie blog. Newest update: 31.12.
Attack The Block & 2011 as a movie year
Okay, now I'm worried a more obssessive brony would try to outrun one of the ponies to make them easy prey once they're too tired to escape.
