I still think that's too much of an outside influence. Without that corruptive force, Luna WOULDN'T have become NM. That's my problem.

I think it should've been possible for her to become NM ALL on her own. This dark power only made it worse.

The new year won't happen for another 5 1/2 hours here. I'll be celebrating alone, with some beer. Yay.

But it was all her choice, she choose to listen to the voice/entity/feeling that was saying the stuff, and she choose to act on it. All that happened was it encouraged her to act on the resentment and hate that were already in her. nothing except her own choice made her act on it.

Striped Like Me

A rewrite of "Bridle Gossip": Instead of everyone getting cursed by the Poison Joke, only AJ does. It turns her into a Zebra.

It makes AJ's racism sympathetic, as in you can see the logic behind her fear even she's obviously wrong. It's got pretty good humour, and some clever wordsmithship.

Read it all. Especially you AJ fans that are always clamouring all over this thread.

She's the viewpoint character, so of course her mindset gets displayed most prominently.

Okay, Ginger. She has an accent. It's a steryotype. Yes, it isn't fair. But it happens. Out of all the mane six she was the most afraid of Zecora, and the most likely to assume things, regardless of whether they were intended as jokes by the writer. She's not the only one, but she's the most 'openly' racist. And again, yes, it isn't fair to single her out because she's from the south. But it happens. The story can still be good on it's own merits, especially since I think I saw a comedy tag on there.

Think of it as an AU retelling, where AJ actually was openly racist?

I actually have to agree with Ginger on this one. Most of the cast was acting racist in Bridle Gossip and I see no reason for AJ to be called out as the "racist pony" except to fulfill a stereotype.

And Like I said, I agree that they were all being racist as well. But a meme is a meme, and no amount of fighting it is going to stop it. Hell, if anything it'll just make another meme. I doubt most people really take it seriously, it's just one of the fandoms bizarre "jokes".

Oh, it was in the fanfiction thread... after Sisterhooves social came out. I was mulling over the idea of writing a story from a sheep's perspective, about trying to leave the farm, get his own house, a job, etc., and the challenges he would face. Death response was something to the effect of, "I think of the sheeps and cows as less sapient, so it doesn't matter if they're treated like livestock".

So yeah.
