according to this, rumors from Hasbro: Italy is that season two will be 28 episodes long, with the last 3 being a single three parter, and something mysterious about them. full post

the last word is definitely Characters, no other word matches those blanks.

the two best guesses I've seen are

Wait, a three parter?! I'm suprised that the creators managed to get that allowed. I hope they use the extra time well. Isn't three parts more or less movie length? A short movie at least.

not quite, most animated motion pictures are at least 80-90 mins long at least. each episode is only about 22 minutes or so once comercials are taking out, more like 20 once begining and end credits, so it's only about 60 mins, would need a fourth part to reach movie length. And most animated movies based on TV shows are 5 parters if they end up airing on the show itself.

And man, if it is a villain song? awesome. Maybe that's what Shining Armour and Princess Cadence are for as well.

I kind of hope to see Discord again, but at the same time I'd like to see a new villain. Or maybe more than one. Oooh, what if Discord manages to brain-boop luna into becoming Nightmare Moon again?

The three parter is a flashback episode to the defeat of Discord, and his slow corruption of Luna into Nightmare Moon. Princess Cadence was a third sister, and she gave her soul to become the spirit of harmony. Her lover, Prince Shining Armour, gave his body to become the gems in which the spirit was catalyzed, and together they formed the elements of harmony. Losing both her sisters was too much for Celestia to bear, and she altered history to leave out any mention of Cadence.

Oh god, I hope not. I don't kknow why, but I REALLY don't want Discord to be involved with NM or Luna. I don't care how much sense it makes, I just don't like it.

NM was HER fault DAMMIT. Not Discord's!

Recess. I loved that show, and had to constantly watch reruns cause they were barely any episodes. Very sad. Also taught me that in America Recess=Play Time. Very important.
