You may be right. I hadn't really thought that Discord had brain-bopped her itno it, more that he had just sort of sown the seeds of doubt and watched the rest happen on it's own. Another force, Like Lauren said, but still ultimately Luna's choice.

Besides, it's probably for the best if Discord isn't involved. We don't want either of them showing up again.

For some reason I want a villain based on Fear.

Like a GOD of Fear or something. NM was Darkness. Discord was Chaos.

A villain that forces you to experience your greatest fear. You just KNOW a power like that would fuck up Luna AND Celestia! What with all they've been through.

Fear extends to more than just ghosts and demons and stuff. It's Psychological as well. That's what a god of fear would do to Pinkie. He'd play on her insecurities.

I could imagine her TRYING to pull a reprise of Giggle at the Ghosties though.

... OHHH! What if the new vilain sung a Dark Reprise of Giggle at the Ghosties?

@Fallen: Not necessarily. There's a big difference between facing irrational fears and realistic fears. Given how terrified of being alone Pinkie is, I think the villain could take her out fairly easily by isolating her for a day or two.

I think that, even allowing for outside influence, a great deal of blame still rests on Luna's shoulders for Nightmare Moon. The [insert outside influence here] would not have been able to transform her if not for her biterness and jealousy that was already present (the prolog states it was those things that at the heart where responsible for Nightmare Moon). No matter what Luna was still at fault.

Hmm. . .I'm hoping that Discord doesn't return. If we get a new villain I'm hoping for something less than god tier, but I'll be fine with something like Discord again as long as they do it right.

Anyway, something interesting pointed out in this comment

: in Italy, the episodes are split into two half-length episodes, meaning that "episodes 26/27/28" might be referring to the latter half of episode 13 and the whole of episode 14.

@ L Mage, about the evil force and NMM/Luna, that's pretty much what I see. Way my head-cannon figures it, the "evil force" that may have helped turn Luna into NMM didn't force her into anything. Best analogy I can come up with is this force was like Palpatine to Anakin Skywalker. It slowly worked at building up her resentment and hatred, confused her with words and feelings etc.. but in the end everything she did was her own choice.

I'm hopping the season finale will cover some of that.
