Okay, thoughts:

Family Appreciation Day - Sounds like it might be a repeat of "Call of the Cutie." Expect d'awwwwww.

Baby Cakes - This one better be hilarious or I'll hurt something.

The Last Roundup - Prediction: It'll turn out Applejack went off to see the last Rodeo of the season. That's the only thing I can think "the last roundup" can refer to that wouldn't be depressing.

Also possible all three could be fakes.

I hope Baby Cakes is a Merriweather Williams episode. She's written Pinkie well, so far.

Well, thinking that it was pinkie focus episode I'd been hoping for Meghan Mcarthy - she wrote Party of One, the only Pinkie focus episode so far. But she's also much more likely to use pinkie as a gag (see FOREVER, Party Canon, etc.), so now I'm leaning towards Merriwheather williams more, because she's done the best with Pinkie as an ensemble character - that is, she treats her as a real character, and not as a source for gags.

Either one of them could probably do it, but I'd lean towards Meghan; Merriweather is good at incorporating Pinkie into the ensemble, but that doesn't necessarily equate to being able to write and episode centered on her. Meghan proved with Party Of One that you can put Pinkie in the spotlight without making her a gag character. That episode rounded the character out more than the rest of the show combined. The other thing is that Party of One basically deconstructed the social half of Pinkie's "all parties all the time" philosophy, so I'd kinda like to see her deconstruct it from a practical standpoint by making Pinkie learn that you can't solve everything with parties.

And with that, I'm going to bed.

Yeah, but the synopsis makes me think that it won't really be a focus episode as much as I'd thought. I'd really love for it to be, and for that I'd love Meghan more than anything, but I'm just sort of playing for all the options. Night, Teeth. Sweet dreams of magical technicolour horses.

Well, we at least know that "Baby Cakes" is "centered on one pony, for the most part" (the one pony almost certainly being Pinkie Pie).

Do we? the new synopsis seemed to me like it would largely be an ensemble episode now. I mean I'm really hoping it'll be Pinky focused, but I'm not really holding my breath anymore.

It was stated by one of the show's animators/animation directors that "212 is centered on one pony, for the most part" and later, when asked whether said 212 is "Baby Cakes", that "Babycakes used to be 212. Well, during production at least.".

uh, the plot summary says "Pinkie Pie tries babysitting Cake’s twin toddlers but finds it harder than she thought".

pretty sure it's all pinkie pie.

huh... good point. The new synopsis on the pony wiki said that she calls in the rest of the mane six to help out, but I guess that could come nearer to the end of the episode, and most of it is her trying and failing? I don't know if I like the sounds of that either, though. I mean I know Pinkie tends to have the most magical success moments out of the cast, but I still think that she should get to be the successful one in her own episode. But then again she was wrong in Party of One, and that was still a really great moment for her. I guess maybe she does need to be in the wrong once and a while.

Not as far as I know, no. So it may be best to assume it a fake next to a director's testimony, yeah. I just really want this episode to be good, and I'm nervous.

^If Pinkie can't handle the kids, more chaos won't be. It depends on the writer, though - I think we can expect Meghan McCarthy not to go down that route, given how unexpected (but real) Pinkie tiring out in "Party of One" was, but I'd actually like to see Merriwether Williams' take on it, too...
