I'm hoping they Luna a more relaxed version of Celestia: She has a job, but doesn't mind just being out there and meeting people. Realistically, she's only really required from sunset on, Celestia and Luna don't appear to require sleep, and Luna isn't really that much older than the main cast. In fact, when she reverted from being Nightmare Moon, she actually appeared to became younger than she was as Nightmare Moon, suggesting when she became Nightmare Moon she stopped aging as Luna.

Plus, she also has a thousand years to catch up on.

Her progress personality really seems like a good idea - it would be kind of nice to see a more serious foil for Celestia, but not a really stodgy one. Plus, her shyness makes her compore to Fluttershy in terms of sheer unflitered cute.

Because Nightmare Moon =/= Princess Luna.

Her childish jelousy manifested as a different personality entirely. Compare Luna after she's freed to Nightmare Moon. There is no relationship.

Luna has had exactly one line in the entire series so far. I don't think we can say that we know what her personality is, outside of fanon.

we didn't staw much of nightmtare moon either. but of the little we saw. luna was practictally another person. it was mostly in the body languge

compare:

nightmaremoon

adult voice
secure (she charged towards twilight. she even made an evil speech)
angry-melodramatic actitude
speaks similary to Rarity style but with a royal like tone of superiority
adult body (same size as celestia) while luna is the size of twilight.
evil laugh and genre saviness.

Princess luna

shy
she was shown as being much more insecure (look her eyes when she is in ponyville)
more child likevoice with a submissive tone
scared (after hearing her sister she couldn't even see her, while nightmare moon had just kidnapped her...)
same size as twilight.
never spoked to anyone besides celestia

Power corrupts. What started as a childish wish turned into a massive cluster fuck. Take MY word for it, there was a reason Luna acted the way she did when Celly appeared after she was freed. Luna wanted love. Nightmare Moon wanted power. The difference is black and white.

"Luna is the same size as Twilight"?? I would say Luna is slightly bigger, but all right.

I dunno about split personalities or anything, but I can't help but feel that there's more to the Luna/Nightmare Moon story than just a little sister getting angry and becoming an evil being.

This wasn't a Heel Reailzation. This was a pony being freed from an evil corruption. Remember the opening narration? She was TRANSFORMED. Not BECAME, or CALLED HERSELF.

Its in the language. Saying she was 'transformed' implies that there may be an element of unwillingness in what happened to her.

But friendship is magic... wait a second, what if that means that

in herbid to be loved, she ended up becoming friends with beings that actually ended up being evil and then corrupted her because evil friends produce evil magic?

On a side note, would someone who has submitted to ED in the past be able to tell me what the approximate turnaround time from when your e-mail went out to when a reply was received or your work posted?
