That's what happens when you give Photoshop to a 6-year old, right?

[up] Hehe, maybe. You know what's great, though? Seeing that image, then coming back here and seeing your avatar right after, as though that's what horrified them.

Why is it that whenever someone references that line, they do it over-the-top and not at all how it was originally said?

Well, I checked in with Sethisto and my best guess is that the turnaround is actually decently long with some level of priority given to the most popular entries (I'm betting the ones with more duplicate e-mails from different sources get scheduled first), as he mentioned my photos are scheduled for tonight. Now that I know, though, I'll have a ballpark estimate for the future if I end up submitting more stuff (not knowing brings out the Twiligh level social paranoia in me <.<). In any event, I will allow Rainbow Dash to help display my enthusiasm for me.

I actually kinda like the style of the G4 pony toys, even if they don't really resemble the show's very-much-two-dimensional style all that closely.

They strike me as all too awkward.

They do seem kinda awkward, but less so than the G3 toys. To me, anyway.

Ok, this has been bothering me. I've been hearing rumors about new characters replacing/overshadowing the Mane cast in S2 or something like that. Where'd this talk start, and is there any proof to this?
I think it originated from that post Fallen Legend linked to. Someone tweeted about casting new ponies, which I guess some people are reading to much into. I just assumed it meant casting for characters like Trixie who only appear in one episode, not replacements for the ponies we already have.
Could it be something in between, adding a few friends as semi-regulars the way the Cutie Mark Crusaders were, as they don't have to put all 6 ponies in as many episodes now that we're familiar with them all? I think that would be a good way to get their new toys in without feeling like we changed to a whole new show, but I could imagine the showrunners putting their foot down on even that too.

Remember, FIM is a toy based show. Like Transformers and G.I. Joe, both of which replaced regular cast members with new guys to sell the newer toys. I'm not sure if this kind of policy continues today but it was prominant in the 80's and 90's.

... Uhhh, what? You must've lived through a different set of 0s and 90s than I did. For one thing, both the cartoons you named are from the 80s, and for another, it was only "prominent" in shows produced by Sunbow Productions, and then it really only happened in Transformers and the regular MLP (G.I. Joe introduced new guys but didn't get rid of the old characters).

I can't think of any cartoons from the 90s or 2000s that did wholesale cast replacement.

pretty much all of the standard mane cast toys - the ones that everyone complains about being in a weird, different style - except for fluttershy, for whatever reason.

To be honest I'm not even sure why I want to get them so much - I'd much rather wait for something that actually looks like the show.

As far as merch goes, I'd rather just get a cutie mark pin, or something.
But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...

I'm surprised at the sheer amount of really good fan merchandise; considering the Sturgeon's Law.

But regardless of how awkward the toy designs are, I'm still buying Princess Luna when she comes out.
