Well, beyond the fact that this is PUDDINGHEAD we're talking about. It wouldn't surprise me if the E Ps were so poor they couldn't AFFORD Trumpets.

...ooooon a slightly more positive note, yes indeed, Puddinghead rules supreme. Though the badassness of the Spargusi also deserves mention (Platinum, the white supremacist, can, however, eat a Party Cannon to the face).
My favourite was the Hurricane and Pansy double act.
Agreed. Honestly, I could watch an entire show about Puddinghead and Smart Cookie's travels to Equestria XD

Honestly I think the Pegasi had it worst in that blizzard. Earth Ponies had food, Unicorns had stable dwellings. The Pegasi were living in the storm itself. Major props.

I'll agree with that. Even though a major point of the ep was the E Ps COULDN'T grow food because of the storm, the probably still had limited reserves of some kind.
Weirdly the Pegasi never mentioned trying to GET RID of the storm. It's obvious that they wouldn't have been able to, but I still would've brought it up at the meeting If I were one of the other two.

Puddinghead mentions to Smart Cookie that they have all the remaining food when she returns from the meeting. Smart Cookie then informs her that the store is out. So yeah they had a store. The Pegasi meanwhile were literally eating their hats.
That is odd. Puddinghead accuses Hurricane of causing the storm but yeah it's never brought up to try and get rid of it.

They were probably to preoccupied with blaming each other for the problems then actually trying to solve them.
Maybe, but if that were true we should have seen most of the Pegasus city flying away at that point. Probably just Rule of Funny.

Well when water becomes colder it becomes less dense, from 8 degrees Celsius and down IIRC. So that might be a factor.
Actually, looking at the Pegasus city, some of it seems to be made of stone. Maybe this one was on top of a mountain and was made from a combination of cloud and stone.
And now I'm off to play Galactic Civilisations as a pony race. Wish me luck.

We were never told that the Pegasi could halt or hinder the storm in ANY way. As Badwolf said, they were living IN the storm itself, if anything they were COLDER than the others.
The EP's HOMES were being literally BLOWN away. The unicorns still had sturdy lodgings at least. (even if the doors were sometimes being blown in it's not like the CASTLES themselves were being destroyed)
It comes down to whether starvation or freezing to death is worse
