Is Dash shaping up to become the mane character or something?

Her first SRB gave everypony their marks, her discording was the most devastating to the group and she was the hardest to capture and correct, and she takes center stage in the new DVD pic.

Hmm, I would still kinda call those minor problems... I'd say most other episodes do need more prior knowledge. Also, yeah, the Spike cameo still cracks me up every time ^^

Interesting point... I think, on the tropes page somewhere, they say that Dashie is the face of the show to the outside, I think there was her picture in the Wall Street Journal (not sure) article, she was on Death Battle...

Yeah, she's listed there, along with Pinkie. I'd call that accurate, those two really are the faces of the show. Maybe because they're the most fun-having, in-your-face and active ones?

Dash and Pinkie end up at the forefront because they're the strongest personalities, by which I mean that they can make the largest impression in the shortest amount of time. If you've never seen the show, and watch a scene where the entire cast get equal screentime, they're probably the most memorable. It takes longer to get a good handle on the other ponies' personalities. I doubt they're shaping up to be more important than the rest of the cast, though. The only difference in focus is that Twilight isn't in every episode anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I love RD, but I sometimes feel a bit of Hype Backlash when I see just how oversaturated she's become in the marketing and in the fandom

Though I got to thinking, who's the most settled of the mane 6?

I say AJ...she's got her farm, her family...she's pretty set.

Rarity's got her own buisness, and she doesn't still live at home.

Yeah, AJ doesn't wanna go anywhere, and her career is pretty solid.

True, they're not all creepy, some are more depressing, like you said.

As for being settled, I dunno. Rarity's pretty well off. Then again, her work is subject to public opinion. On the other hand, after Suited for Success and A Dog And Pony Show, she should be pretty dang well-off, what with two extremely popular celebrities being enamored with her work.

Wouldn't it be cool if those connections were brought up in Sweet And Elite?

I think Applejack and Fluttershy are the most settled of the Mane 6. I say this mostly because Rarity and Rainbow Dash have aspirations that would take them outside of Ponyville, and Pinkie Pie and Twilight's living arrangements don't strike me as being very permanent.

Rarity has a business and decent recognition...but she obviously wants to achieve more...and I still think that she's looking for Mr Right.

Well yeah, Twilight's a grad student or something. She's gonna have to find a permanent job when she graduates. Whenever that is.

Well she's got a job as a librarian right in front of her. But she'll probably wind up being a research scintist or something - it seems to suit her.

I think RD is pretty well settled, though. She got a nice big house of her own, and she's obviously pretty high up on the weather crew - she was head of the weather team during WWU and in charge of clearing the skies for the Summer Sun Celebration. She has to be either the most trusted worker, or the foreman or something.

Honestly I think Pinkie is least settled. She's living with another family, and working for them. Half of her pay is in food, according to word of Faust. She's the only one lacking a place of her own and apparantly steady pay.

But she's aiming for the Wonderbolts. So at the very least she'll probably end up moving out of Ponyville at some point.

But...she wants to join the Wonderbolts. I don't know what effect that will have on her life though, if she gets in

How does Futtershy make money exactly?

Fluttershy lives a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, returning to her old oak tree at the end of each foraging expedition. That's why she knows the forest and animals so well.

Also, I love the fact that controling the weather is considered such an ordinary, mundane job in Equestria...and probably a public sector job too.

As a former binman, I find it amusing.

FS is a vet/animal shelter worker/animal cenus taker.

It doesn't necessarily mean she will have to move, but she will probably be away from Ponyville doing shows and training for long periods of time.

Probably by taking care of the other people's animals. That or she is completely self-sufficient out their in the woods.
