I just re-watched Sparkler's scene in Mare-Do-Well and noticed that the filly she was hanging with wasn't Dinky. Actually, how did this whole Dinky thing start? I'm familiar wiith the background pony, but I have no idea how or why she came to be associated with Derpy.

I think physical similarity.

And this is the intrinsic problem with specifically refering to your characters as the BEST at something: You'll eventually have to start engineering reasons for why they can't help, or have them outright LOSE their skill for an entire episode.

Yeah, for the record: Superpower Lottery, The Gift, and Hard Work Hardly Works are 3 of my most HATED tropes of all time. Consider how much love I must have for Twilight to not let these factors get to me (most of the time)

I haven't changed my avatar in over a week, I believe. That's way too long for me.

A while ago, someone (on here, I think) asked what we'd do when this show is over. This is my best guess as to what will happen.

I've had maybe three or four avatars at all on TV tropes.

This is why I'm a little bothered by all the attempts to keep this connection despite the complete absence of evidence for it. I guess the reasoning is "We wrote too much fanfiction about it to give up on it now!"

Was she even having trouble, though? Dash just kinda swooped in outta nowhere when she pulled out the jar. For all we know, she was about to tap the rim and open it herself.

When she brought it to the fountain, I actually thought she was about to run it under the water. Then I realized that the fountain probably is cold water.

I figure it's just that she needs to memorize specific spells. It's not like the Green Lantern's ring, where she can just pull off whatever effect she can think of. Sure, she's good at learning things fast and effectively, but the spell has to exist.

And it seems that her telekinesis has its limits, too. For one thing, it appears that there's some limit on the amount of inertia that it can overcome.

Speaking of Twilight breaking out spells, I realized that there are actually two scenes in Season 2 that I thought were one character's egotistical dream sequence the first time I saw it. One of them is the "Failsafe Spell" scene. Before it failed, that is.
