@Ginger: It would seem that way on the surface, yes. He's a stoic, and keeps his emotions buried deep. But when they come out, they can be extremely powerful.

On the note of making him resemble his three races: This may sound odd, but how about having his mane the tentacles? It's ether that or having it appear to be made of water.

Tentacle mane sounds good. It also sounds a tad horrifying but I also first thought of it as a tentacle beard. Also having something appear as water for someone who lives in the ocean would be tricky.

Edit: And then I misread it as naming his tentacles. What is wrong with me today?

Would Prince Tidus have a chariot being pulled by Hippocampi? (like Poseidon) Or would he use something else? (the royal guards DO pull the princesses carriages though, so I'm not sure if there'd be an ethical problem in having Hippocampi tow his transport)

Hippocampi are the fastest of the Sea Ponies so it would make sense for them to pull the chariot yeah.

Also, Rainbow Dash is now mane character. Twilight is off at the side.

How would the mane cast interact with the sea ponies? Is a spell cast on them that lets them breath in water? Is there a magic bubble of air around their heads? Would they all be in one massive bubble?

Hmm, they took the legless vectors

◊ and added legs, but some of the legs are in odd positions or out of place, Rainbow Dash looks like a blank flank, one of Rarity's eyes still has an animation error, the Friendship Express Train isn't correctly aligned with the train tracks, and there's a glitch visible behind the "F" corner of the "Friendship is Magic" logo.

However, judging by the pixelliness of some of the logos on the spine, I'm guessing this is early cover art, so hopefully the final version will look better.

You know, it's sort of funny that we're talking about this; the chapter I'm writing right now actually features a sea pony as a major character, so I've given a lot of it a lot of consideration.

Anyways, I had thought that, like in the 80's cartoon, they might be able to cast a spell that made a bubble a land pony could sit and breathe inside, and maybe even control a little bit.

I was thinking a bubble head spell that may also convey some swimming abilities.
