Something is starting to annoy me in the raw hds I'm downloading.

The second season's opening has undergone an animation bump, as I can see.

Everyone else has their opening in a slight desync? Like, "a beautiful heart" is being sung when AJ kicks a tree, and so on

Yellowish earth pony, blue mane, bunches of grapes for a cutie mark. Seen with Daisy at the start of Dragonshy, and at the Gala, and I forget which other episode in the first season.

But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...

Yeah, but I think the "Big Sister Foundation" theory is a sweet one and it's an interesting take on the two of them being together in Sisterhooves.

I'm fine with any theory, I just want to flesh them out a bit first

If I may rant a bit, I was just reading thru this show's YMMV page

and caught this part:

Growing the Beard: It might be a bit early to call this, but some fans attest that the series started growing a stubble towards the end of Season 1* a lot of the more popular episodes come from the later half of the season , but there does seem to be a sense of improved quality in Season 2 so far. The animation has improved a little bit, things are a little darker.

(Emphasis mine, but the pothole was in the article)

One, that's not even true.

Two, why the hell is being "darker" always seen as an improvement to most people?

I'm think that was their intention. But only because RD decided to confront or even attack Mare Do Well. And after that their intention was to show up that they are MDW and teach RD her lesson.

But people are so upseat about that, and complain how Mane Cast are "mean" to Raindow in this ep?

Because that gives them the option to pretend they are manly as fuck for watching a cartoon marketed towards little girls.

That's a general trend in all media: edginess and deconstruction are universally seen as an improvement, because you obviously aren't mature if you enjoy something that doesn't have swearing and gore.

Although, to be fair, all of the snapisodes are pretty great, especially Lesson Zero.

Wow, you and me agree on something else. Heck, it seems like the only thing we don't agree on is Discord...

Anyway, I didn't remove it, but I revised it so it sounds less like a fanboy wrote it. It now says:

Growing the Beard: A lot of fans didn't like the very early episodes. Depending on who you ask, the series hit its stride either on "Applebuck Season" or halfway thru the first season. Some contend that it didn't really take off until season two.

Ya think that sounds good? I'm thinking I could instead say "almost nopony liked the pilot episode, though opinions differ on when exactly the show hit its stride."

Dragonshy is when most of the people around HERE started LOVING the show (least that's the trend I'm seeing)

The first three episodes are probably some of the least liked, so yeah, Applebuck season might be a good episode to mention too.

I saw many fans who liked pilot episodes, even people who would be fans of show if show was more like those episodes. So you can't ignore them.

General consensus is that the Slice of Life is better than the adventure though

I've seen people on both sides of the fence, but that's the overall feel

I'm not ignoring them, Death Cloud. I'm just pointing out that they're not a majority (at least, not in my experience).

Speaking of the pilot eps, I read recently that Discord beat out Nightmare Moon in a pony villain popularity poll (on which he and her were the only two choices). Nothing darkens my day quite like that. More love for teh Nightmare Moon, peoplez!

I LOVE Nightmare Moon, it's just that she didn't really have much in the way of entertainment value, and she wasn't all that competent either. Discord did more damage than she did BEFORE he even appeared in person

I know you don't like him, but he's got a Joker-esque likability to him that a lot of other people seem to enjoy (myself included)
