As overboard as she got in Putting Your Hoof Down, she and Iron Will had a valid point. And yet, Fluttershy pretty much going back to the same personality was seen as a good thing by her friends. There wasn't much of a middle ground and that really bugged me. I can get that personality and psychological issues take time to try and get over, but going back to the way you were before trying to deal is even worse. Not that it was right to lash out, but if anyone had a good excuse, it's Fluttershy.

She wasn't really "back to normal" by the end of the episode anyway, since that episode vastly overstated her timidness to the point of being out of character. On normal episodes that don't focus on her shyness, she's much more functional.

Also, what Meta mentioned earlier. Keep Calm and Flutter On would not have happened the way it did if she were Old Fluttershy.

So maybe she's Newer Fluttershy now.

I'm doing okay, I guess. I still need to see a dermatologist to ensure I don't develop skin cancer and in addition need to see if I'd be a good candidate for eye surgery, but as the onus for doing both of those is on me, I can't really complain.
