All joking about gender ratios aside, all indications we've had (Hearts and Hooves Day, Rarity's romantic fantasies) indicate that Equestria is mostly monogamous. I prefer to think they just have a very high lesbian population.

I always sort of worry the world is building up to some huge climactic disaster that will happen any day now, but I also sort of think that's just a result of watching too many movies. So it averages out to just being uninterested in basically everything news related.
