@Meta: Yanno, Rarity as Batman makes a whole lot of sense when explained. I'd have pegged Pinkie as the Flash though, because she's so happy-go-lucky and seemingly can run as fast as Rainbow can fly (when appropriate for comedy).

So kind of like an AJ version of Party of One? I could see that.

In the sense that Pinkie is always the one throwing parties for the rest of the cast so this time they try to throw a party for her.

I want to see baby Fluttershy.

Pinkie as either Plastic Man or The Flash would make a lot more sense than Harley Quinn.

Yeah, resentment may be too strong of a term... I mean, I know she likes being dependable and all, I more meant it like - well, like what's been suggested: She really, really needs help, but can't get it, and I don't think it's too much of a stretch for her to get a bit upset that she's always willing to help her friends, but they aren't there for her that time. The moral could be something long the lines of, "Sometimes people have responsibilities they can't give up. Just because they can't help you out one time or another doesn't mean they don't care about you, and that you can't depend on them."

Now, I've gotta run off. Gotta take a shower and do some chores before I ship off back to Man-Eat-Tuba for Christmas tomorrow. Later all.

I did enjoy the episode, I'm just the type to analyze for no reason and expect parents to be addressed :P

The photo here of the presumably previous reunion (not the one at the Summer Sun Celebration). We've got the core family, Braeburn, Apple Rose, Applesauce, ...baby Apple Fritter? Are any of those ponies the parents?? We will never know.

There was surprisingly little cloning in crowd scenes this episode. Everyone looked distinct.

It seems like a huge leap to go from there are a couple of shooting stars to these shooting stars must be AJ's parents.

In any case, next week is looking to focus on a different side of Applejack, so we'll see how it goes.

Not when there are two of them, they appear twice in the episode, and they coincide with lines like "We've got the whole family together this time around. Who knows if they'll all be able to make the next one?" Seems like pretty obvious symbolism to me.

Wait a second. If Applejack is Superman in the MLP universe, which one of her cousins is Supergirl?

Looks like there was a pretty big time gap between photos 2 and 3. Enough for AJ's parents to be born, have their kids, and die.

This is kinda why I'm grateful for the invention of concrete :V Wood buildings are nice and all, but they just can't take a beating.
